I started hiking at 12:36 and finished at 2:00, it was a pretty great hike. Cactus flowers all over the trail sadly, and didn’t see any animals, but a good rocky trail. It was about 100 degrees but the cool breeze made everything better. I stopped under some shade a few times just to make sure I wouldn’t overheat, but would recommend this trail to anyone in for a small workout!

Nice hike! Liked how it was kind of a half pipe with the elevation, fun going up on either side of the wash. Saw a crested saguaro which was exciting & a gila monster crossing the road on the way to the trailhead. Follow my instagram for more adventures @julie_journeys

Rocky, well marked, easy to follow. Lots of wildflowers right now and bees to follow. The beginning and end have a lot of cholla cactus, watch out walking with a dog. My dog enjoyed the climbing. Great trail, quiet area, and pretty landscape.

Was actually the upper trail

This is a great hike. It is rated as moderate and 3 miles. it was actually closer to 4 and moderate is accurate. Starts out in the Wild Burro wash, then you come to a Trailhead which you can either go right or left to head towards lower javelina loop. Nice incline and rocky. There are some up and down areas. it can be tough on the knees but if you are in decent shape, it should not be an issue. great views. Took a few hours but that was due to stops for photos. Saw a few really pretty birds as well.

Perfect conditions on an easy trail. Great views! Took us appx an hour and a half with stops for photos

Rocky, hilly terrain with flat sandy terrain at the beginning and the end. Very doable but be sure to bring a comb or pliers to grab cactus needles from your dogs paw.

Great family trail, lots of greenery with recent rains. Hummingbirds, javelina, and other small critters.

Very nice trail, some inclines but doable. Great cactus and rock viewing along the sides of the trail, but no dramatic overlook. Recommend for a family hike

Great easy trail. Nice opportunities to sun ourselves on the rocks on the second half of the lower javelina. We went counter clockwise and liked the easier climb. Took us about three hours with TONS of stops.

Quick morning hike with the dog. Took us 1.5 hours. The ups and downs were well marked with lots of large steps between rocks. Nice little morning workout

Lots of up & down, some large steps were needed. Basically up and back down two sides of the canyon. Only views out were from southern end. Lots of bees flying around when we hiked. Enjoyed the two hour workout.

We really liked this short hike. It's a great way to start the day. We chose to do this trail early in the day, and clockwise, and so the sun was on us the first half, and we enjoyed the shade the second half. We really liked the combination of up-and-down throughout the trail. It's very much on the easy side of "moderate." Probably our favorite short hike in the Tucson area.

Great trail for a quick challenging hike. Didn’t do the full wild burro loop. Took Lower Javelina for a 3 mile loop.

A very nice walk along a ridge over looking a wash. Cross over wash and head up the other side. Very nice, moderate hike with some nice views and interesting rock formations. Hiking to and from the parking lot through the wash is very enjoyable with lots of desert plants around.

Great views! Well-marked.

Really lovely trail. Beautiful views, very well-maintained and well-marked. Some of the trail is in a valley which is really lush and much more interesting than many lowlands hiking I've done; and some of the trail is higher up, looking out over things. The one big drawback of the trail is its proximity to a hotel, which is a bit of a bummer. Other than that, it's a really lovely one, and we'll definitely be back!

Hiked Javelina Loop on Thanksgiving Day. Epic! Perfect temp, happy trailin humans abound! I consider the trail Beginner level as a Tucsonian (is that really a word?) avid hiker. If yr a first timer just make sure you have proper hiking shoes/trail runners with excellent grip! Bring water, jerky or fruity snacks, deep, delicious breaths and a mindful pace. Enjoy! The great outdoors can be true, restorative bliss!
