Getting There

Please note that this is not an officially marked/maintained trail. To get to the main ruins just walk along the main creek heading east the whole way and eventually you'll run into the end of the canyon/beginning of the creek where the water used to flow down. The Main ruins will be clearly visible on the south end. To get to the upper ruins you must scale up either the north or south end of the canyon you begin the hike in. It can be a bit challenging for those not used to bushwacking or heights but is easily doable. Trailhead coordinates are 34.910283, -111.810515 Upper ruins coordinates are 34.907013,-111.803433 Main Ruins Coordinates are 34.907308,-111.802656 PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF THE RUINS. They are not in the best shape, especially the upper ones. With limited traffic it is very important to keep these well preserved and not vandalized. The canyon itself is beautiful, with a lot of opportunity for trailblazing and good exploring.

Need a high clearance 4x4 to drive there. RD 152 is a rough Dirt Road. Otherwise you can walk in from the main RD which is easy to find as you'll see all the Devils Bridge traffic walking on to RD152. I'd say its roughly a 3 mile hike to the trailhead if you start from the pavement area where RD152 begins. If you have offroad vehicle you can park really close to the trailhead

I hiked this Trail yesterday and it was super fun and without the the upper ruins its extremely easy. If you decide to go to the upper ruins it is a challenge climbing up the cliff face and requires bushwacking. Also keep in mind this is not a recognized trail by the city of Sedona and there is no official marker for it. Technically it's all off trail but you can see footsteps indicating an unofficial trail up the creek. It's worth it. The upper ruins have been mostly destroyed/deteriorated, but you can tell there once was a MASSIVE dwelling up in that area. If you do go to the upper ruins you do have to find a way back down which again is a challenge. My friend and I decided to walk around the rim to the south side and bushwhack back down into the main creek then walk up into the Main ruins at the end of the lower canyon. Main ruins are in much better shape and located also in a really cool section of the canyon. Both ruins have amazing views in different aspects. The upper ones have a whole view of western Sedona and whtie/red rocks. The lower Main ruins have a forest view looking up an old waterfall that most likely still runs during the spring when snow is melting The coordinates are as accurate I can provide in the description Trailhead: 34.910283, -111.810515 Upper Ruins: 34.907013, -111.803433 Main Ruins: 34.907308, -111.802656 Follow that satellite Image in the photos it is a GREAT GUIDE!
