Long Canyon Trail is a 23.0 kilometer lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Rimrock, Arizona that offers scenic views and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is best used from April until November. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Directions from Flagstaff: Drive 40 miles south on Interstate 17. Leave the interstate at the AZ 179 interchange (exit #298). Turn east under the highway and drive about 2.5 miles east on FR 618 to FR 618H, the first road past Beaver Creek. Travel 0.75 miles to the trailhead located on the right side of the road.

It was a steep start. It would be a nice trail if you just do the first climb. The views are great. Not really worth the effort to go farther.

This trail was tough. Strenuous going up and treacherous coming down....sort of. A little exaggeration but we are 58 and 60 and it was a hell of a workout. Actually worse coming down since our legs had pretty much turned to jello.
