Long desert road - make sure to have plenty of gas before getting on. Watch out for desert donkeys at night. Passes through US Army YPG range. Overall a beautiful, long drive through the heart of the Kofa Desert.

Some good hiking spots here - both can be accesed by taking U.S. Highway 95 approximately 63 miles north of Yuma or 18 miles south of Quartzsite, watch for the Palm Canyon/Queen Kofa sign, which indicates the junction with a dirt road.

1) Queen Kofa Canyon (take route to Palm Canyon) - once on road to Palm Canyon, road will split into two sections with signs. Make a left you will hit Queen Kofa, make a right (or go straight) and you will hit Palm Canyon. Both can be done on the same day. Queen Kofa is moderate, however there are steep rocks along the canyon that you can climb for the extra challenge. Overall one of my favorites, you are surrounded by towering canyon walls and the path takes you through the center valley of the canyon. Can park just in front of the entrance.

2) Palm Canyon - another great hike - very short and easy but background and canyon is very beautiful - 30 -45 min max. Only native palms in AZ are located here. Recommend getting to Palm Canyon early in the morning and then doing Queen Kofa in afternoon.

Can you say US Hwy 95? This is a scenic drive along a two lane US highway. There are numerous detours available depending upon your desires.
