Perfect hike for a little exercise and some great views... kind of rocky but not bad. And to the guy in the Jeep that gave us directions and then an orange in the parking lot to top it off, thank you kindly!!

Good trail, there is no shade though. Wear sunscreen and a hat!! Start to the left to do the ridge line first! Took us about 2 hours to complete. There are a lot of trails in this area so pay attention to where you are going.

The javelina segment is pretty boring but it gets good once you turn into the ridge line.

.Nice trail for a workout. lots of hills once you get to the Ridgeline trail. Wear good traction shoes, lots of rocks and loose gravel/dirt.

This is a trail with great views, but it is VERY rocky. We were hiking it on Easter and a man fell and broke his ankle a few feet in front of us on the small loose rocks. When hiking please take care on the downhill to watch your step. It is VERY easy to fall.

Great trail, esp. right now with wildflowers blooming! Changes in incline keep the hike interesting with beautiful views throughout. We got off path on our way back so just be careful to follow the trail carefully! Very few bikers but keep in eye out.

This was a great hike I started on 46th took Javelin Canyon to Mormon Loop Trail then on to National and back to Mormon and finished on the Javelin ridge line

Good hike. Depends on which route you start it can be easy and then challenging or challenging and then easy. Either way there be a point where it be more trails and if you want to stick to this route make sure you have it to guide you. Most of the part on the trail I had reception so didn't have to download. overall great hike. Take a hat and sunscreen because your exposure is just sun.

Great hiking challenge for teenagers! Took the family out for this one and it was a challenger for my teenager and my youngest one. We started out on Ridgeline Trail with lots of ups and downs which helped get the blood pumping but used up most of our energy. Javelina Canyon trail was smooth and a breeze to come back down. We were treated to lots of wildflowers along the way on the North facing slopes of South Mountain. Went on Saturday and all the parking spots were filled by 8AM when we arrived. Going counterclockwise around this loop, we finished by 11AM even with taking a few short breaks along the way to enjoy the views from the top. Lots of mountain bikers along the way so be alert hikers!

I did it ridgeline to javelina and it was a workout! There are some steep rolling hills but the views are beautiful!

Beautiful views, but I would recommend starting at the ridgeline part because it’s much harder and better to get out of the way at the beginning. It says it’s 3.4 miles, but my watch clocked 3.8 miles and that was with taking a shortcut at the end. Took just under 2 hours with no stops for breaks. Just a warning, if you have a dog that pulls going down hills, I would not recommend this hike. There are a lot of parts where you go down hill and it is all loose rocks, I almost got pulled down several times.

Fun hike to do on a weekend afternoon. Not too busy, parking was available 2pm on a Saturday. Decently steep ascent or two on the ridge line section, but no scrambling required. Keep your head on a swivel, lots of mountain bikers. Some picturesque spots along the way, for all your Instagram needs. Nice, relaxing trail just minutes from the city.
