Description
Waypoints (1)

This is a great trail to do in early February with some wildflower bloom & water in the pools of the smooth rock canyon where the petroglyphs are found. It’s tempting to look up at the landscape but you’ve got to keep your eye on the trail as you go - navigable but rocky - hiking boots are a better choice over other athletic wear. Be prepared for a small bit of rock climbing as you enter the canyon at the end. This combined with the rocky trail, gradual uphill climb and total distance makes this hike moderate. Note: Do not park on the side of the road; you will get towed. Instead, be sure to park in the parking lot area.

Great!

This trail is ABSOLUTELY open. No padlock on any gates. Went all the way up to the pool and climbed up the boulders past the pool.

This trail is NOT open yet! Gate 1/2 mile out is padlocked. This is part of the Tonto Nat Forest which suffered a fire a few months back.

Easy hike to an area of rocks with some Hieroglyphics. Some Saguaro Cacti on the way up. Would not recommend this hike for tourists but is a nice hike for those living in the Phoenix area.

It was a decent trail. We mainly went for the water but it was all dried up. Lots of rocks along the trail making it a bit more challenging, but pretty views

Hiked this trail at night. Pulled up to a sign that said there has recently been animals In the area with rabies. Only lost the beaten path a handful of times. Made it out safe with only one encounter to what I believe were bats and maybe a cow Beautiful view of the city and the stars. Nice and cool.

Really enjoyed the hike! Careful which navigation system you use, my gps kept fighting with me. It kept leading me into gated communities. Eventually I figured it out. Me the doggie loved it!
