Baby owls were super cute! Did not realize it gets so hot quickly, we started our hike 9ish and it got too hot too soon

Long gentle inclines that skirt two summits. If you want more challenge, take the Spurs up to the summits. Mostly away from civilization and noise so very relaxing.

Great walk, not too much loose rock, double wide trail. Views terrific, especially if you take the .2 mile jaunt up the hill and back as shown. Could run or bike this one if I were in better shape.

Great trail, well maintained and great views. And then there's the saguaro cactus with the owls nest :)

Good for
Mountain biking. Good variety but you better have tubeless. Lots of cactus everywhere

Nice hike offering a number of good views and changes in elevation. A couple of off-trail climbs allow for greater viewing distance, but not much in the way of better scenery. Rocky, footwear with firm soles are a plus.

Although named Hawk's Nest, I'm told the large nest a short way up the trail is actually an owl's nest. I didn't see anything in it today but am told you can see owl chicks in the nest every spring.

This Trail is the access point from the Car Park to all other trails in this part of the Sonoran Preserve. Fairly steep towards the top of the trail if you are going to the Dixie Mountain Loop Trail.
Good information on all the trails at the trailhead/car park.
