Amazing hike. Views are superb. Moderate hike is a good rating. Those out of shape or beginning will have quite the scramble the last 300-400 ft to get to the escarpment overlook. Otherwise the trail is pretty gradual and has just the perfect changes in ecosystems on a relatively average length hike. Only saw one person on the trail this morning. This hike has incredible reward for below average effort. One of my top three favorite hikes ever.

Excellent and easily manageable hike with ample emerging views as you reach Hangover top. Be very careful of high winds!!

Incredible panoramic views towards the end. Hiked this on a Monday morning and only saw 2 other people. Got there at 7am and was one of the first cars there, trails are nicely marked. Would definitely recommend!

Great trail! Some spots of shade within the pines and junipers. Great view of all the surrounding rock formations and mountains towards the end of the out and back trail. Make sure to have shoes with grip to climb up the steep rocky hills towards the end. Not a lot of traffic. Can see the pink Jeep tours driving through the roads that the trail snakes along. Not an advanced hiker - completed it in about 3hrs.

Perfect for a day trip! If parking where the All Trails directions lead you, you will have the chance to start at Mund’s Wagon trail which then converges with Hangover and Cowpie at one point. We did Mund’s to Hangover (out and back) and it was probably closer to 7 miles rather than 6 if you want to go higher up the rock at the end. There was shade in some parts, very rocky in some parts, and quite steep toward the end. I would agreee that it’s moderate as far as difficulty goes. Amazing 360 views and not heavily trafficked.

Nice quiet trail. Doesn’t seem to be that popular at all. Only saw about 6 others the entire way up and on the way back down! Views are worth the trek though

Beautiful moderate hike which we recorded as exactly 6miles and we completed in 2.5 hours at a moderate unhurried pace and taking beautiful photos. There’s shade in the first half of the hike, and the entire trail offers beautiful desert greenery and flowers. The views are majestic and diverse, giving you panoramic vistas of Sedona from various vantage points. Highly recommend it. Wear sunscreen and bring plenty of water, we started at 8am and it was still a scorcher.

The best trail we did in 50+ miles of hiking Sedona. Decent (considerable) challenge, creek canyons, slick rock, cliff edges, brief steep climbs, ridiculous views throughout. Highly recommend doing it counterclockwise, as previous reviews have stated. When we went there were no jeeps, though I can see how this could be a detractor the first part of the trail. I would still argue the hangman’s loop is worth it.

Really great trail with lots of views! More like 7 miles from parking lot to the peak and back. Only a few spots that were a little nerve racking but well worth it!

Incredible 360 degree views. Not the popular Sedona Trails you always hear about. It delivers all you could hope for. We went out and back.
