Granite mountain trailhead is located at 31402 N 136th street. Plenty of parking. There are restrooms but no drinking water available at the trailhead. This is a really lush trail, with great views of the surrounding mountains. It’s well labeled and breaks off into several different trails. It’s flat with fine dirt.

Beautiful trail and scenery with all the wildflowers, cacti and the very special rocks. The trail itself has good signage also to the balanced rock. Easy to stay on track.

This trail was very easy, nice wide trail in spots It’s also a bike path so be careful of them. The trail was scenic going around the Granite mountain with lots of trails intersecting this trail. We will definitely come out here again and try the other numerous trails. I would give it 2 up!

My wife and I have done this trail 3 times in the last 3 weeks. It is currently our favorite moderate hike in the Scottsdale area. Awesome wild flowers, many huge saguaro, neat rock formations and fabulous scenery. Trail is a little busy but not bad at all during the week.

Excellent hike, beautiful in the spring. Not much climbing to do, pretty flat. Wonderful views. Take the cut off on the route recorded to avoid coming back along power Road and seeing all those ugly power transformers.

Great trail for running!!! Lots of wildflowers and beautiful scenery. Great packed and sandy trail. The loop itself is about 5 miles and it’s just over a mile from trailhead to loop. So GPS said the entire run was about 7.5 miles. I came across a Gila Monster, so that was cool. Spectacular.

Very scenic and enjoyable trail.

If you’re looking for wildflowers right now this trail is loaded!! Felt like everything was in bloom and every corner brought more beautiful landscape. Elevation was mostly rolling, nothing really steep. Trail was mostly sand and packed dirt so great for running. Saw a handful of people throughout but not as many as I expected. Came across a rattler sunning on the last stretch of the power line road so be sure to keep your eyes peeled.

Very nice, approachable trail for many skill levels. Plenty of mountain bikers out there, so you’ll need to keep an eye out. Great desert vegetation and granite boulders to make this hike very memorable. Wild flowers all over the place right now!

Gorgeous desert views, tons of huge cactus and right now all kinds of wildflowers blooming. Not too much as far as elevation changes, but the trail was smooth and mostly sand and small gravel so great for running. Moderate traffic at the beginning and then just a handful of people the rest of the way. Could do without the power lines at the beginning, but the view of the mountains in the background is a stunning backdrop.

Great Trail! Beautiful scenery of mountains, wild flowers and cactus. I would say easy to moderate trail. Make sure to bring lots of water! Later in the day the sun is hot and not much shade anywhere. Saw a lot of dogs on the trail enjoying their hike too!

Absolutely beautiful trail. I was looking for a quick, easy trail on a late Sunday afternoon. I wasn't expecting much, but this trail was impressive. Lots of vegetation, especially with the spring wildflowers and growth, and fun rock formations. Every bend offered something new. It was a very easy trail - well-maintained with no rocks. As others have mentioned, it's a perfect trail for taking those out-of-town guests wanting a good taste of all the desert has to offer. I went a few hours before sunset on a Sunday and there was still moderate traffic, so I imagine it can be quite busy during the peak hours. Even so, I think it's worth the visit.

Great trail. Lots of saguaro. Beautiful lush trail. Share trail with bikers and horses. With the addition of bootlegger trail it is closer to 11km in distance. Took our small dog and he loved it.

Enjoyed walking the 6-mile trail with relatively smooth trails as compared to other rocky trails we’ve been on around Scottsdale.

Great trail for anyone new to hiking, biking or trail running. Meticulously maintained, wide in most spots. Heavily trafficked on a Saturday afternoon in February, but we were pretty much alone on the back side of the loop. Spectacular views of the majestic saguaros and Sonoran desert. Well marked and so few Rocks and loose soil. Best trail conditions I’ve seen in the Phoenix metro area. I clocked it at 5.8 miles.

Beautiful loop, comes out closer to 6 miles on my GPS. Relatively flat and easy. Can be lots of bikes, especially on the weekend.

Very nice but not if you’re looking for a lot of elevation. Nice scenery & not rocky- good change of pace from the Gateway trails. Would’ve been great for running if I hadn’t gone Lt Dan in the battle of gnip gnop.
