The trail is paved and lined with markers to show you how far you've traveled both in feet and years (an earth-time line if you will). Also has types of rocks formed around the time marked on the trail. Very fun for kids and educational too.

It's a heavily trafficked trail, but if you hike it, you'll understand why. The views are just insane.

The views are surreal. I would like to prepare to backpack into the canyon in a year.. it would be a 2-3 day trip. I am not physically ready for that yet but I want to come back and go down to the river.

Paved trail along the south rim of the Grand Canyon. The entire trail has beautiful, picturesque views of the canyon. There are many spots to sit and relax, take pictures, etc. It can be very cool and windy, especially in the morning. I recommend getting an early start if you want to get out and enjoy the Grand Canyon views before it gets crowded. After about 11:00, this trail became extremely crowded but we started hiking around 8:30-9:00 and had most of the trail to ourselves.

C’mon, it’s the king of beautiful views in the continental US. Easy walking with the most picturesque scene.

I've had the pleasure of doing this walk multiple times. It's very easy, well marked and maintained. Just don't be naive and get up close to the rim with your selfie stick, many people have died at the Grand Canyon. There are multiple signs informing you of certain things, whether it's geology, human history, wildlife or flowers!

It was a great walk. Great for kids and dogs. It had an amazing amount of history along the trail which made it very interactive.

Really a walk and not a hike. All trails are 5 star in the GC. Every view is seemingly diverse with something new around each bend of the trail. The Geology Museum at Yavapai Point is amazing. There were so many elk along the trail as well that made it interesting. Our walk on May 9th was just after a sizable snow, which added to the mystique with the Canyon blanked out. Later in the day the Canyon views opened up. A most magical place!!

If you only have a hour or three... this is well worth the walk. It is easy for all abilities, paved, sort of flat, and has a free bus if you get tired and want a ride back to the car. From Bright Angel to Kaibab is 5 miles (10 if round trip).

Beautiful way to see the Grand Canyon. It's an easy stroll and fun to hop off the path and stand at the edge of the canyon. Perfect way to spend an hour or two.

Beautiful views and well maintained! Has handicap accessible portions along the way and is fairly level throughout. Well worth the hike!

Great out of canyon experience! See the whole south rim from above and get in some good mileage. 14 miles from Hermits Rest to South Kaibob Trailhead. Took us 6 hrs with numerous stops to soak in the scenes and stay fueled. Note: Not all of the trail is paved. There are places very close to the edge and some rough ground if you are not wearing good hiking shoes. The bike trail, which is paved, follows along side and could be walked most of the way but you’ll miss the chance at some gorgeous scenery and playing dodge the deer and elk dropping’s game!

Nice easy paved rail with many gorgeous views. Great for family members that do not like heitghts, as they could stay back and still see much of the canyon. :-)

On the way back after hiking to plateau ridge, this was hard hahaha. Seriously though, it’s paved, easy, well marked and beautiful. You need to walk here if you’re coming out

We walked the whole thing, but didn’t record it. Great trail better to avoid crowds near the visitor centers near peak lunch hours. Traffic was very heavy at start.

Very easy paved trail! Breathtaking views for miles. Arrive early to find parking. Parking can get quite full mid afternoon. Access to restrooms, cafe, and visitor center. Bring water and light snacks, or pack a lunch if planning to stay all day.

Although we did not walk the entire rim trail, the views of the Grand Canyon are breathtaking. Make sure to arrive before 8:30 if you want a parking spot at the South Visitor Center Parking Lot. We enjoyed strolling along the trail from lookout to lookout without the massive crowds of the afternoon.

Crowded, guided. Great picture opportunities and areas for risky off-trailing near the edge.

This was the busiest trail - it was very difficult to find a spot that wasn’t inundated with people. The walk was easy and mostly paved with great views.
