Well groomed trail around the base of the San Tan mountains. Good for hiking, biking or even pushing a jogging stroller. Lots of Saguaro cacti and Joshua trees and a view of the valley not so far below. Several trails start at the same trailhead with varying difficulty. $6 entry fee.

very boring If you want to take your grandparents out for a hike this is your spot. Seven dollars not worth it at all!

Easy walking trail. Well marked. There are a few areas that are slippery so be careful.

Too easy. The initial incline was tough and rocky but the rest was a Walk in the park. Very very spacious, very unlike most trails in the Phoenix area did not feel like I was hugged by the mountains :( . Started at 7:30 AM 36° got back at 9:30 AM 46° there are restrooms at the base.

This was a beautiful hike, however I would not classify the loop as “easy” especially when there is a hazardous section written right on the park map. Most of the loop is easy/moderate but the final distance is 5 MILES/ 8 KM, not 5.6km as listed. If I had taken my kids on this I would have been mad for all the false information.

Super easy for kids and dogs. Wide trail without cactus for the dogs to collect in the paws. Would definitely go back to mountain bike. $7 entrance fee to park. Go inside the office to checkout the wildlife.

Most of this trail is easy however if you are a bit out of shape or older, be aware that there are some small steep areas with loose rock and you will walk through some small sandy washes. Loved the scenery. Beautiful desert park.

I would recommend this trail to anyone looking for a nice hike. It has good views and lots of cacti. I hooked on to gold mine ( which is a pretty hard trail) It is wide and flat. Good for horse riding. All in all it’s a pretty decent trail

Moonlight Trail Loop is a 3.6 mile lightly trafficked loop, you may also shorten the loop by taking the Service Road if needed. Great walking / hiking trail for all ages including your four-legged furry friends. Well groomed and maintained, popular for horseback riding and Mountain Biking. Also, perfect for connecting to other, more challenging trails in they San Tan system. Easy driving access with a small parking fee, San Tan Regional Park offers many trails for all experience levels, we highly recommend this trail system.

Wasn’t a loop unless you want to continue on to San tan trail which is moderate in difficulty, we didn’t so we turned around at the end of moonlight trail to head back, making this trail 2.6 miles. It was still a great hike with a few up and town little hills. We took our out of shape dog and she did just fine. They have dog poop bags at the beginning of the trail. $7 parking to get into the area which has a few trail options. All around a good hike. My Fitbit said we did a total of 35 flights of stairs by the end if that gives you any tips on the incline of this trail.

Quick easy trail, great for first timers or people on a time crunch. Make sure to bring water in the summer months as there is no shade.

Did this hike on national hiking day, so I assume there was more traffic than normal. San Tan is a enjoyable place to visit, a nice mixture of terrain and views. Goldmine trail has some nice views and on a clear day you can see downtown Phoenix.
