The views from the top of Goat Hill are awesome on a clear day as you can enjoy a 360 view. Telegraph Trail is kind of a sidewalk part of the after that a little bit rocky until you reach the summit road.
Good workout hike. More of an easy-moderate in difficulty. From the parking lot to the top of Goat Hill, it's 6.10 miles round trip, about 1400' aeg. Lots up people up to Telegraph Pass, then the crowds thin past the stone building. Plenty of poppies blooming along National to the east of Goat Hill right now.
Great place to hike. Once you get to Telegraph Pass you can go left to Goat Hill or right to the trail summit of South Mountain. Either way it is more moderate than easy. See short video of this trail at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtEY8Vc6LA0
Doing this again soon. Want to see how much time I can shave off. Awesome views and a decent challenge.
It was a nice morning out and not as busy as I thought it would be. It was a nice hike on a cooler day 85 at the start with a very nice cool breeze. Todays hike was very relaxing to meet. I always enjoy hiking after it has rained
