This trail is within Cave Creek Regional Park located off Carefree Hwy a few miles west of cave creek road.
Great trail, moderate grades, beautiful scenery. Abundant wildflowers in late March.
Beautiful views of the wild flowers. Perfect weather, low 70's. Wouldn't want to do above 80F, no shade. Go John North Was busy until Overton trail, then only a few hikers until near the Quartz intersection.
This trail is not as steep as we were told. We are 65 and 70 and had no problems. It is a well maintained trail with beautiful views. The Hills were covered in flowers and so beautiful. If you decided not to do the full 6+ miles, you can opt for a shorter trail in the area with just as beautiful views.
Beautiful day! Love the wildflowers .
This is one of those trails that really puts you out in the desert. After an initial steepish climb, you come to a resting area and you can see the sprawling desert for miles. Most days I've done this hike there are few hikers. What I like is that it never really looks the same..you'll find something unique about this trail each time you're on it.
Towards the end I'm always fatigued - pack a snack, pack extra water.
Really nice trail.
Fantastic trail! Great views!
great hike loved seeing the wild flowers blooming. I can't wait to do the rest of the trails that are around it! did not seem to be that busy of a trail
Nice wild flowers and views, wasn't a lot of hikers today and weather was great
Great trail in an area that I haven't hiked in before. You're way out of the city on these hikes, beautiful! Go John is a moderate circumference trail showing off the awesome Cave Creek wilderness. There are abandoned mines, wildflowers, wildlife, and great views. Just watch out for the horse poop and cacti, both of which are frequently on the trail. I'll be back to hike some other trails in the area.
Awesome! I was all alone out there and it was amazing. Great trail for running.
Great hike...not so difficult, but beautiful!
