A beautiful scenic hike on the outskirts of Scottsdale.

I really enjoy this trail. It's a good quickie weekday mornings and on weekends if I'm pressed for time.
I usually like going clockwise for the longer more sustained ascents.

One thing I won't understand is how many people I see bring their dogs here when it's entirely too hot! Even on overcast days the ground is hot and your furry friend doesn't sweat like you do!
Please leave your dogs at home in the AC!

Did Gateway Loop today. Going up to the Saddle, it's a bit of a climb. That peaks out at 2,378 feet. After that, it's all downhill back to the trailhead. Very scenic in the McDowell Mountains. For Monday, July 10, there were a lot of hikers out! 4.5 miles today. I intend to go back and do Bell Pass.
