Very beautiful trail for moderate hikers. It's a little bit tough for average mountain biking, since there's quite a bit of climbing and rocking path. However, the view a long the trail is spectacular

The location makes it a great trail to hop on for a quick hike, or connect through to longer, more challenging hikes too. Great spot to watch the sunset over Scottsdale. Pretty busy trail.

Trail is in good shape. Pretty steady up then down. Extremely busy, and with that comes many people that are unaware of trail etiquette. Decent views. Overall kinda boring. The side trails looked more interesting.

Terrific. Long slow incline, ditto descent.

Beautiful trail with beautiful views. Can easily add another mile on by hopping on adjoining trails. Fairly heavily trafficked with some loud talkers but definitely found moments of solitude. One of my favorite Phoenix area hikes so far.

Enjoyed this trail while trying to get back in to hiking. Very well marked with many options available to challenge you.

Very busy trail so go early if you want to run or get in a good workout quickly. Loose rocks in areas so watch your footing. Not a great trail for mountain biking... too many hikers, walkers etc. love the scenery and well maintained trails. Beautiful!

Great trail, steady incline, I feel the only reason the trail is not rated easy is because it is very rocky but other than that I'd do it again.

A beautiful scenic hike on the outskirts of Scottsdale.

I really enjoy this trail. It's a good quickie weekday mornings and on weekends if I'm pressed for time.
I usually like going clockwise for the longer more sustained ascents.

One thing I won't understand is how many people I see bring their dogs here when it's entirely too hot! Even on overcast days the ground is hot and your furry friend doesn't sweat like you do!
Please leave your dogs at home in the AC!

Did Gateway Loop today. Going up to the Saddle, it's a bit of a climb. That peaks out at 2,378 feet. After that, it's all downhill back to the trailhead. Very scenic in the McDowell Mountains. For Monday, July 10, there were a lot of hikers out! 4.5 miles today. I intend to go back and do Bell Pass.
