You really have to follow the map on this one. A small path cuts into the creek bed where a steep climb lays ahead. Since its hard to find, you find yourself alone and off the beaten path. Its up against the cliffside and is hard to spot. Once you reach the arch, which is more of a bridge, you need a wide angle to capture the stunning view. Be prepared for bugs. I will be posting photos of this arch on Instagram @nathan_vanengen and you can follow me to discover more amazing places to visit in the southwest you never knew existed.

Awesome clear path with intermittent shade. Once you come to a bunch of rocks we went to the left to hike up through a narrow passage to a gorgeous view. We headed back down and went up the dry creek river basin a bit but had to turn back because we were in a time crunch. We didn’t see the arch or a cave that I had read about in other reviews. It was fun and ended up being a 3.4 mile hike for our family.

Fun easy trail. Great for small children. Our 3 year old was able to walk the 1 mile in and we carried her out easily. there is a moderately challenging section that continues after the maintained trail ends.

Just love this trail! My second time doing it and it’s quick and easy but the views further into the canyon are great. The climb up after the end of trail sign is what makes this trail awesome. The views are great. You can see Courthouse Butte and Bell Rock. Hiked it before sunset and just made it that much better.

This was a nice hike to do with our kids. We started early and were by ourselves most of the way out. The views were wonderful.

The trail along the floor of the canyon is nice, well marked and touristy. The path up to the arch is not marked or shown on their map. I used All Trails. The Arch was great. You can get on top by going to the right from the arch opening. Overall great views

The trail out and back is basic. However heading up the arch trail is highly recommended and well worth the effort. You have to be patient as the trail is not as well traveled but with patience and some hard work you get to the arch and are rewarded with an amazing natural phenomenon.

We got to the parking lot across from the trailhead by 7am and had no issue with parking. You can do two hikes here. You can follow Fay Canyon Trail to the end and climb the rocks for amazing views. Or you can go approx .5 miles and take a right on an outshoot trail that leads you to the arch. The trail is not too bed but final 100 yards is steep but safe. Cool photos from the arch

Very easy, shady hike if you avoid the spur up to the arch. The last part of the scramble up to the arch would be difficult for many hikers due to the steepness and rock scramble. But definitely worth it. Because the arch is parallel to the rock wall it is difficult to discern until you get actually under it.

A nice trail that is easy. Wouldn't recommend for those unable to walk on sandy walkways

Did hike in April and wasn’t sure where it ended. We came to a dry creek and really weren’t able to go any further. I concluded it was the end but wasn’t really sure. However a really nice walk with some shade.

First five star ive given. Short flat hike but at the end where it says end trail, go about another 50 yards up the bank a bit. Amazing view

not marked well at all and the walk to the turnoff is easy. getting up to the arch is not "easy." its actually really fun but it is markedly more difficult.

We were visiting Sedona over spring break. We thought this was a nice short trail that we tried after doing Devil’s Bridge. We were pleasantly surprised. A little tricky up to the arch but our 7 and 9 year olds managed it. Great views of the canyon from the arch.

The arch is a nice treat. Be careful of the cactus going up. Some places are pretty narrow.

Not really a do or die part of the main Fay Canyon hike. A lot more cacti to contend with and didn't have the wow factor of the main trail.

A couple notes: 1) The offshoot trail to the arch (right turn) is not an official or maintained path. It is marked by a small cairn and crosses a dried river bed. Be sure to wear long pants and be aware of snakes in the greener months. 2) If you continue down the Fay Canyon trail, there is an AMAZING hand over hand climb to a lookout. This is an unofficial trail as well, but you'll see an obvious path up.
