Went on an early evening as the sun was setting and a slight breeze appearing. The trail starts off relatively easy but mile 1-1.5 is a fairly rocky uphill. Once you get off Phoneline the down hill switchbacks offer some relief from the previous uphill. Hiking/running through the creek bed offered some unique challenges but overall the hike/run was thoroughly enjoyable. Definitely recommend for those wanting a shorter hike with plenty of scenery. Bonus: A family of javelinas hanging out by the creek where the trail changes over near the Rattlesnake trail!

Bugs were terrible. Couldn’t do the whole hike

This was a nice loop, great rolling elevation, never too difficult. Saw a kestrel and a blooming saguaro! PS made a longer loop including Blacketts Ridge, and added on the tiny bajada loop by the visitors center to see the MAJESTIC crested saguaro. Great 8 mile hike (from the overflow lot - fee or national parks pass) Follow my instagram for more adventures @julie_journeys

Pretty cool but there is no shade and quite a bit of elevation gain. So take lots of water and go when it's cooler. Saw lots of barrel cacti flowers blooming.

Great intermediate Loop w/variety. The creek was higher, so we didn’t venture across to connect the Rattlesnake portion, coming back on the tram road. Restrooms and visitor’s center closed for COVID19.

Great trail - we added the little nature loop at the end which was definitely a bonus. Will do this one again !

Very pretty trail, check with visitors centre regarding the water level at bridge crossing. Good for all ages

Great views and a really pretty stream!!

Great hike with a slight revision. Pipeline is a steady moderate climb with some great views. Once you go down, there is a river crossing to get to the Rattlesnake trail. If the water is high, you would need to do some wading and we did not have proper foot ware. So we modified the hike and went along Creek Trail back to the visitor center. Check with the rangers on the Creek water level before you go, or bring sandals.

Beautiful place! Great views from Phoneline Link. Add on Blackette's Ridge for extra views (and an extra climb).

January is a great month to do this hike. Leave early and beat the crowd, even on weekdays.

Great hike. The wash is full right now so we had to do some tricky rock stepping/hopping at one point and some wading across the road later on. Great views, well maintained trails, and good trail signage.
