A great trail, must do in Tucson for sure. I would rate it a just few steps below ventana canyon, but it is still a great hike. Don’t let the crowds at Sabino Canyon Rec area scare you away, their was very few people on this trail and the views were special. Another plus is that this a very well marked trail.

Great hike! Secluded, not many hikers. Superb weather - partly cloudy, some drizzling. Made it to Cardiac Gap, the trail was pretty steep before reaching the top, but the view was worth it. Many wild flowers and birds.

Much longer than they say. It’s over 16 miles but worth it. Waterfall was beautiful and we saw some mule deer out, great day!

Awesome hike. Globemallow blooming beyond the half mile (of private property.) The falls are running and there were very few people. Perfect day for a lunch at cardiac gap. 2.5 liters, 6 hours out and back.

Completed the trail to the point of Bridal Veil falls yesterday. This trail is well worth the effort. In the 3500 ft of elevation gain and 5.5 miles to the falls you get to experience a great range of biodiversity. Cardiac gap at 3 miles is a breathtaking view with a waterfall currently running in the north side of the gap. Beautiful city views as well. A few minor water crossings to the Bridal Veil falls, all well marked. Took us about 7 hours to complete. 2L water each.

Such incredible views, wish we had gone farther. Bring lots of water, be prepared to hike on some rocks. Will definitely do this again.

Good and challenging! It gets so beautiful after about 4.5 miles - manzanita, pine, and birds like the scrub jays and acorn woodpeckers. A bunch of very easy water crossings. So pretty, hiked until I felt like I was half-way done, for me :)

Cardiac gap is no joke! Well worth the hike. Saw lots of bear scat and snow past the saddle. Took the shortcut from the overflow parking lot by going to the left of the rescue facility. Made the mistake of not taking that shortcut on the way back and ended up having to go through the picnic area and a short horse trail. Will be back again when I’m in better shape.

gorgeous views of stunning cacti, great workout hike and plenty of friendly fellow hikers. we started at the overflow lot and went up about 5.5 miles, turning around due to the snow. finished 4:20 for 11 miles.

excellent trail. I will be back next Sunday to go back up and spend time on the trails at the top

Not my original plan,, 7 falls was first choice but wash was flooded and didn’t want to cross and ended on rattle snake to esperero which is an amazing trail!! Glad to be done!!

This is, by far, the best trail in the area. It has a great walk through saguaros. A good workout taking you up a set of scenic switchbacks in cardiac gap. It has incredible vistas, rocky outcroppings and hoodoos. A walk through a beautiful manzanita grove. Then a walk up a creek bed to a great payoff in Bridal Veil Falls. This is the least rocky way up to the Window, compared to Finger Rock and Ventana Canyon - you can actually make time on the downhill! Start from the overflow lot and you'll cut over a mile off the hike - including garbage hiking on the road.

I really enjoyed the trail but I hoped for more shade. Started at 5:30 am in August and saw full sun by 7. Phoneline stays shaded longer so if it's really hot, go there. Excellent trail but not when the day's high is 105. No regrets.

Great trail. Lots of ups and downs but the views when you gain elevation makes it all worth it. As an FYI - be mindful of the elements- I started out at 7AM and by 10AM it was already uncomfortably hot. Once I drank half of my water I headed back down.
