3/20/18 Great trail. Pretty easy even for a big guy like me (350lbs). Has some ups and downs but they’re pretty spaced out. There are a few vista views and there’s even a nice sturdy bench about a mile into the trail. Beware of lots of horse poop along the trail, also by the looks there were either bike tire or off-road walker tracks. The trail initially splits off the gold mine trail about 1/4 mile into it, the trail runs on the west side of the mountain so if you start before 10am the trail will be mostly shaded. There’s a $6 self pay parking fee. 2 porta potties in the parking lot.

This is an easy trail, but there is a good variety of terrain along the way. There were quite a few bikers so be aware of what's coming up behind you. The map doesn't show the entire trail. It does continue to the San Tan Trail which brings it to about 3.5 miles one way.

This is a great hike casual hike with a steady mild up climb for about 1.7 miles and then back down. It was great for my little buddy Keebler who is 13 years old and distance is starting to get to him. It's also a great run trail.

Connected to this trail from another trail at San Tan to make it an over all 6 mile hike. Really liked it but not too difficult. Take some water. It gets hot.

I really enjoyed this trail. Not too tough and offers some good views at the summit. Also connects to other trails to extend the hike.

Nice easy trail good for dogs, great for a beginner or runner. If I was mountain biking I'd probably rate it higher. Good contrasting view of city and nature at the top/end. Liked that you can continue onto other trails if you want to which can make it more of a challenge. It's a bit busier with a lot of bikes and you pay via pay box if you don't have a park pass.

This was a fairly easy trail and super fun! Would recommend a lot of water if you go on a hot day!

Map on site not correct (if we followed what was there we would have gone on Gold Mine trail which is extremely difficult and steep). Liked the hike however surprised that it was an incline all the way until we decided to turn around (1.7 miles into the hike)

Very nice trail. Well maintained. It wasn't challenging so I could take my mother with me but was still a good walk we could both enjoy. The desert was blooming with beautiful flowers. There are other trails that connect to this trail if you want to extend and do more. Mountain bikers and hikers can share the trail easily, and everyone was very friendly along the hike.

When you are in for a close to home hike this is a great trail with switchbacks, elevation gain, not busy at all and it can be connected with the San Tan Trail, Hedgehog and other connections which are easily understood and depicted in the map provided at both entrances. You can hike all day and never get tired of the scenery and silence of this majestic park. Most covered, 5 hours hiking and about 13 miles give or take.
