For a short, easy trail, this provides a front-row view of natural beauty. Lake, pines, flowers, birds, as well as restrooms, fishing, kayaking, are all part of this scenic spot. Take a picnic lunch and travel at a comfortable pace and it will take about an hour and forty-five minutes to trek around the perimeter of the lake. There is a fence near the south arm of the lake, but gates are provided. We hiked mid-June, mid-week, mid-pandemic and there were a modest number of campers and fishermen.

The trail is hard to follow in spots, but you can’t get lost - just look for the lake. Walked it on a weekday and had it to all to myself. Tons of birds! Hawks that plunge for fish, herons, and a pair of bald eagles! I will try to post the video. Go early for phenomenal wildlife viewing.

Great trail , nice weather in June. Lots of people are fishing along the lake.

Flat and easy. Not very peaceful for a hike (crowded with people fishing) but we saw a fair amount of wildlife - snakes, crawfish, osprey, herons, etc.

Couldn't make it all the way around because the lake level must be high. Trail just ended into the water. Tried to find another way around, but ran into a fence. Too many people fishing with their gear spread out on the trail. I don't like having to walk behind 7 year olds casting. They tend to not pay attention and hooks dangling in your face is not fun.

This was a nice hike where we were able to see some blue herons, but unfortunately the southwest part of the lake is completely flooded right now and we were not able to continue the loop. Maybe during the summer it would be better.

All the way around the lake is approximately 2.5 miles. Started on the "day-use" side. There is a fence at the back end of the lake, but if you approach it, you can see an entry point. Crossed over and there is a gate on the other side. Easy hike. Lots of birds to watch. Great entry level hike for all ages and abilities.

The trail is an easy walk around the lake. A fence line runs into the water because the water level is up. No way to cross. We also took a rubber raft out on the lake and had a picnic. Lovely day use area. Bring a lunch. Lots of fishermen catching trout. Great for kids and dogs on leash.

The trail is great, but the lake is so full you have to go through a fence to get through on the backside. We decided not to do that cause it was private property

July 27, 2019: A beautiful reservoir with abundant bird life for viewing while you walk the perimeter. We saw herons, ospreys, cormorants and a majestic bald eagle. Someone's fence crossed the reservoir's western edge so we couldn't do the entire loop. However, the out and back still made for a pleasant hike.
