Went in the evening- we were the only ones on the trail. Love the info placards - trail was well maintained and good length for young families.

Short paved trail with several covered rest stops along the way. This is a really cool spot to see the sun lighting up the mountains to the east, but not so great if you're looking west into the sunset. Parking lot has maybe either spots. We were there at 6:30 PM and only one other car was there.

Absolutely wonderful. Go at sunset and you'll understand the poem They stood alone and heralded the dawn; Gaunt shadows Etched upon a rim That tore the jagged edge of day. They stood like phantoms grim, Within a world alone, Upon a lonely way. With muzzles pointed toward the stars now dim In dawn’s first undertone, They filled the sleeping sky With eerie wails. Each dismal cry Came drifting on the winds,"

Nice little trail to do at sunset with kids with a little education along the way.

Arrived closer to sunset and found a rattlesnake! The hike may not have been worth it, but the rattlesnake made our day. Also saw some lizards, a rabbit, and an antelope squirrel!

Small little loop showing off the various plant life commonly seen throughout the park. As far as hikes go there is nothing to do here due to the side but if you are interested in local flora I would recommend the trail which has a lot of really great informational plaques throughout the loop.

A very easy paved, nearly level trail off of Kinney Road just north of the visitors center. Lots of informative panels to give you a sense of life in the desert.
