This is a fantastic hike!! Instead of starting on the service road, we started at Lake Meadow Drive and worked our way up. Starting here also avoids trespassing onto private property. Definitely recommend it :)

This would be a good trail except it gets confusing around Odell lake. We tried to cut across to the roads by Odell lake because the trail appeared to be taking us back up the mountain and as others report the homeowners have done their best to block off access. The portion along Pinewood Blvd. is long - over a mile and on "city" streets. Best to drive to the trailhead and go in and out the same way unless you can find the loop bit.

This trail was really easy and is good for an early morning hike. I didn't end up doing the loop because I didn't feel like walking through the neighborhoods of Munds park for 1.5 miles. If you are going to do this do it in the early morning because it gets hot and there isn't a whole lot of tree cover.

not a true loop, had to walk back to the trail head in the neighborhood.

The first three miles is beautiful. Once you get to the lake, the trail is misleading due to the homes around the lake with fencing, which cuts off route. This is definitely the case if the lake's water level is high. Even with a cut through on the golf course, I ended up doing 6.3 miles vs the 5 mile hike.

Little elevation change makes this an easy hike/nature walk. Look for cairns along the way! 1.4ish miles to a picnic table that includes weather-proof boxes containing years and years of log books! Take a moment to read some of the entertaining entries while taking in the view. This is a good turn-around point if you don't plan to finish the entire loop.

Nice hike. While viewing the Loop back to the trail head, I found that when you reach Lake Odell, the trail actuall crosses private property. So...the loop really isn't doable. Re turn the same way we came which was great because it was extra miles for our fitbits.

My go to hike. Have cabin in MP so do almost every day I'm there as we can walk to trailhead. Sometimes out and back on crystal point trail or do the loop which encompasses O'Dell trail; alternate direction of loop to change up experience and views.
