Love corkscomb! Great views, on the easy side of moderate and when I went (on a Sunday morning) it was basically empty! Very peaceful.

Some nice views, but too close to roads, you actually have to cross a road and wait for cars halfway through this hike.

Add in Doe Mountain on the hike and it was really, really nice. Hit it at 6am, came across only 2 other hikers until Doe Mountain, which had a few more people. Saw some interesting wildlife

Not too many locals know this trail by name and we had difficulty finding the trailhead and parking. We decided to park in the Aerie Trail parking lot and that was perfect. ($5 Red Rock pass available in parking lot at the machine.). We started, very briefly, on the Aerie trail, but it soon joined Cockscomb. From there, we just followed the signs until about the 5 mile mark...then we took the Doe trail back to the car. That was the final stretch.
A great trail and very well marked. Can't go wrong. Our (leashed) dog led the way the entire time. Can't get lost. Good signage everywhere.
There were a few friendly bikers and joggers, but we were amazed how few people were on the trail. It was virtually ours. We started the trail at 7:20am so we had some shade for the first 30 minutes or so. After that, mostly sun. Wear sunblock.
Great views throughout. Saw a few rabbits and lizards and lots of flowers and flowering cactus. No water anywhere so make sure to bring one liter per person or animal.
Lots of small rocks to stumble on so mind the path. We both twisted our ankles several times, but not badly.
LEVEL: On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the hardest), I would rate this trail a 3.5. It would have received a 3, but the last mile is a climb in elevation and was a wee bit tougher than the rest. Still not a tough hike. We measured 5.8 miles and did it in 2:15. However, according to this app, moving time was 1:48. That's not bad. We were stopping to take photos and having water breaks with the dog.
GREAT TRAIL.

Pleasant easy hike, great way to spend a few hours in Sedona. Not nearly as popular as some of the surrounding trails which made it far less busy!

Pleasant easy to moderate trail with great vistas. Some of the best views you will see of bear mountain and unobstructed views to cottonwood. Well word the time.
Note the last part of the loop is the aerie trail.

It should be renamed Doe Mountain Loop because you don't see much of Cockscomb throughout the hike.

A beautiful walk, with plenty to look at all the way around. Great mountain-bike loop (although I was on foot).

This is a long loop trail around Doe Mountain. This is a flat and easy hike. The scenery wasn't bad but not the best for Sedona.

This trail is better for mountain biking and there were a lot of mtn bikers on this trail so be aware.

Nice trail.... a few spots where the trail is not marked well and you can end up going off track if you are not careful. Not any large, sustained climbs. Good trail for beginner and intermediates.
