Getting There

There are a number of "spur trails" that connect the various main trails. Although the trails are described as "Out and Back" or "One-Way" and the distances show that scenario, most people that use this trail network take a combination of trails that form an overall loop. Overall, there are a total of over 20 miles of trails in the network through the Hedgpeth Hills. Please pick up after your pets. Easiest of the TBird mountain hikes. Easy to moderate levels.

Good quick hike, but would have preferred to gain more elevation.

A pretty short trail that had a lot of foot traffic. It is not a secluded trail, pretty open to street traffic and housing

Quick hike with some good climb to it. Recommend clockwise, so you get the longest stretch of uphill -- gotta get that heart pumping!

We didn’t see a lake other than small golf course and neighborhood ponds/lakes, but this is a nice trail anyway. It’s a good trail for kids and dogs.

Have gone both directions on this trail and love them both. Going up past the amphitheater is shortest way to the top but Def a workout! Going the long way still gets you to the top but much much longer. Still a great hike, either way...

This is my favorite trail at Thunderbird Conservation Park. It is quick and easy, and my German Shepherd loves it too! I love using the All Trails app when I am out hiking, but I'd also recommend an app called Avem. It will help you find other park amenities at Thunderbird Conservation Park like restrooms, drinking fountains, and shaded sitting. I found this really cool wildlife lookout spot that I recommend other people check out! Happy Hiking!
