HikingGreat!

Great morning hike with a few challenging spots. The initial climb and middle one are the toughest and I would say a little more difficult than “easy” but lots of flat parts with a great view of Downtown and Paradise Valley!

HikingGreat!

The second I stepped foot on Dreamy Draw Trail I immediately said to myself what a misnomer this one is going to be. I felt immediately that it was going to be a total lack luster and dud. I first entered a dark almost garbage filled damp tunnel as though I was a sewer rat in its dwelling. The more I made the trek the more I became flabbergasted. What an absolute treat! Between the jaw dropping views, the various rock formations and multitude of colors they exhibited, well lets just say there’s no shortage of beauty on this trail. You absolutely want to slow your stride and immerse yourself in the splendor that abounds. This pretty much encapsulates how the once desolate Wild West has now become a thriving overpopulated dense metropolis. Literally turn your head one way and see the throng of busy city life from the valley and then turn your head the other direction and you have a serene mountain backdrop undisturbed in its nature habitat. Literally old juxtaposed with new. I’ll put this hike up with one of my favorites not only for its beauty, but it’s a fun little hike, you get a decent amt of cardio in with various elevation grades and you can walk, run or even mountain bike to your personal preference. Definitely want to treat yourself to this one.

Walking

Make no mistake - this is definitely a Moderate trail. The only easy part is the first 3/10’,s of a mile getting to the real trail. That being said, I really enjoyed it - my wife - not so much. Lots of interesting rock formations and good views!

Hiking

Overall a pretty easy and short hike, I ran about 1/2 of it. I tacked it on after doing 4 miles of the bikeway on the other side. Nice downtown views and you cross UNDER the 51 which is pretty cool, the tunnel is fairly dark though.
