You definitely want to go counterclockwise on this 8 mile hike if you are on foot. But the biking apps have people going clockwise and you will see why. Definitely go counterclockwise if you are on foot much more enjoyable. an alternative is to go clockwise and just go 2 or 3 miles in and then back out that is the prettiest side.
Very well marked and well maintained with great views the whole time. Excellent trail if you’re in Sedona. Pretty easy just a few steep sections I would say anyone could do this (saw older folks as well as young kids).
Wow! Great trail that takes you on all sorts of terrain - cliffs, rocky areas, sandy, woods, a stream, etc. you get to see everything! Lots of great views and not too challenging despite the length. I recommend going counterclockwise so you do the steepest part first.
Did it counter clockwise. The first half was pretty but flat and dull. The second half had some gentle scrambles and gained enough altitude to have great views.
Great trail! Thoroughly enjoyed the views, not too challenging. Definitely do it counterclockwise!
A stunning hike, get to the trail head early or parking will be an issue. The longer loop is nice, because you don’t have all of the crowd that is primarily going to Cathedral rock. Recommend counter clockwise - save the best for last! Lots of bikers
Excellent views, moderate to hard at times. Very enjoyable and completely scenic! Loved it!
Favorite trail so far. Various scenery and elevation is great
Beautiful hike, lots of mountain bikers on hiline so be sure to listen for them coming downhill
This hike was 8.1 miles. Excellent views, beautiful hike through different terrain. We went clockwise and the downhill portion on Hiline near the Baldwin connection is steep. Going CW at the 2 mile mark is an excellent viewpoint. The section next to Oak Creek is also very scenic. There is a bathroom at the trailhead.
