This trail will walk you through some of the areas burnt from the Bighorn Fire. Part of the trail was consumed by fire, some was not so it’s an interesting hike.

This is definitely an easy trail, with only one area of some steps, otherwise mostly flat. However, you will need to cross water in a shallow wash four times during most seasons. Plan to either get your feet wet or wear the proper shoes to cross the rocks. I believe some people read this trail is easy and don’t come prepared with the proper shoes. The last time I took a hike, an older couple was crossing, and the woman had on some very slick bottom shoes and no hiking poles for balance. She slipped and went face down in the water. Fortunately, she wasn’t hurt, but it ruined their hike and they went back to their car.

We got a late start so this trail was perfect. Lots of shade, with the temp around 90° it was great. Found a bench in the shade and had lunch. We're new to hiking so this was perfect. No water at this time. Can't wait to get back and hike the other trails.

Lots of more interesting and dramatic hikes nearby, but if you don’t have much time, this loop is a quick and pretty walk with some nice views. I love the big old tree at the start of the loop.

It’s a great little trail through some beautiful woods. We included it in a trail run with the Canyon Loop. It’s kid friendly too.

great little hike or walk for people with just a limited amount of time to get in a walk or hike with the dog and shaded in many places.
