Since Cat Peaks is a point-to-point trail, There are several ways to get to the Cat Peaks trail. This route starts at the west Blevins trail head and follows Blevins to Meridian and then accesses the Cat Peaks trail from the east side of Usery Mountain Park.

Great views and awesome wide-track mountain biking. Belvins is only easy going slow. For most MTBers, you'll have an awesome time riding these at full speed. Check out Cats Peak Pass while you're there for the ultimate challenge including rocky drop-offs and sandy ruts.

This trail is what you would expect. Its fairly easy however there is a small portion on the mountain itself that is slightly difficult, but beginners would still be okay. This is a personal preference but I hated that it was almost a mile to the actual hike, the hike itself, then another 'almost mile' back out. This trail is 3/4 desert walking (very little shade) and 1/4 hike.

This is a nice desert walk, nothing major stands out. Definitely easier side of easy if hiking. Really well maintained trail that is used heavily by bikers. Great for dogs paws, but watch for chollas.

Really pretty and the cat peaks pass trail offers a cut through right back to Blevins instead of taking part of meridian back. bewarw though, the pass is Rocky as you go over a small hill. Pup loves it!

Nice and easy for a beginner like me. Not too many shade trees, though. Stay hydrated.

Beautiful spot and amazing views. Great for kids. You do have to pay $6 to get in. It is not a big deal, but we were not expecting to pay anything. I would recommend going here though I will be going again.

Confusing to get to. Not hard or challenging at all. Not much to write about. We did see a mule deer. That was the most exciting part. :)

Great views and enjoyable trail for us beginners.

Easy, pretty, decent for getting back into hiking after time being a lazy slob ;) I got to the trailhead at 8 and took my pup. Took us an hour to make the hike with frequent stops to let him cool down a bit. Blevins trail was HOT because there was no breeze. I turned left a the Cats Peak fork and when you get to the north side of the north mountain a nice breeze hits and cooled it down. Getting back on Blevins to the car was easy but hot without the breeze again. If I did it again in October, I'd leave the trailhead by 7 at the latest to avoid the heat.

We didn't do the whole trail, just around the mountain(s), there was a really cool almost forest of Cholla Cactus though, pretty easy desert trail.

Clean trail, mostly even. We went just before sunset, it was really nice.

As a regular at Usery Mountain Park this trail is a ice trail to do in conjunction with Wind Cave. A good trail for a beginner if they want to get bac into hiking.

This is a great trail system for beginning trail runners. There is just enough "texture" to the trail to give a trail running flavor, but not enough to scare beginners away. There is some elevation gain as the trail goes around the Cat Peaks, and a little gravel as the trail crosses a couple of washes.

The trail is fairly lightly used, even on the weekends -- I think Wind Cave draws most of the weekend visitors. The scenery is fantastic, especially if you like saguaro and cholla.

For a short run, the Blevins Trail is a good start, but this one with the Cat Peaks Trail addition adds roughly 1 mile and a bit of elevation gain around the peaks. To add a bit more distance, the Moon Rocks Trail can be added as well. For a greater challenge, tacking on the Meridian Trail works, and there is a short connecting trail that goes to the Pass Mountain Trail on the north side of Cat Peaks.
