Casner Mtn. trail offers you splendid views of Sycamore canyon, and SE overlooking the panoramic vistas of the Secret Mtn. wilderness red rocks. Trail follows adjacent to a power line. Trail is actually a maintenance road. First mile is easy, but then climbs up 9 switch-backs from 4756 feet, cresting at 7004 feet over a distance of just 3 miles. It is rated "Moderate". Once at summit, it is easy hiking through the Elk meadows filled with springtime wild flowers! If you are quiet you will see them!! You will soon follow a narrow saddle with steep cascades on both sides. Very rewarding hike !!
