Popular Hike Inside Saguaro National Park This relatively flat hike will carry you accross the infamous Cactus Forest Drive loop within the Saguaro National Park. You'll literally cross the loop on both sides. The scenery is about as classic as you can get for the desert, surrounded by every type of cactus available in the southwest, and looking to the East you'll enjoy views of the Rincon Mountain Range. If your looking for a very easy hike that will put you in the heart of the desert, then this is it. The trail is in exceptional condition with very little undulation, a pair of tennis shoes is all you'll need. Ideal for families with children, and perfect for trail runners. If your new to hiking, and ready to get off the paved trails and into something with a little more adventure, then this would be a perfect place to start.

This is a fantastic easy stroll through the heart of the cactus forest of saguaro national park. Elevation change is extremely mild and the trail is very suitable for families and their kids. We ventured to Lime Falls but no water. Still a nice supplement to the hike with a little bit more strenuous terrain. You will see a wide variety of different cactuses and some were blooming during our hike. As for wildlife we came across a lot of lizards and butterflies. Definitely recommend this hike.

Super accessible and well maintained. Beautiful cactus blooms and wildflowers. Went to Lime Kilns and Lime Falls a more moderate .4 mile trail. We found it dry the day after a rain... mildly disappointing but still enjoyable. No shade so bring a hat and plenty of water. Any hotter than 75 would have been too much.

Easy walk more than hike - a few diversions to the kilns and the waterfall (not currently running). Pretty. Easy. No shade so plan accordingly with sunscreen, hat, water and sunglasses.

This trail is a beautiful hike along the base of the Rincon mountains. It’s fairly level and was easy enough for our family to do together with a baby in a carrier and two kids under ten years. I recommend if you’re looking for a nice stroll through the desert - and it connects to Saguaro National Park!

Easy trail, mostly flat with some small hills. Fun and quick walk out and back to Lime Falls and the lime kilns. Despite its location, it feels very secluded. No view of or sound from the road. There was no water in the falls at this time, but not surprising given how dry it has been. Still worth it!

The earlier the better because it’s hot . It’s a little cold in the morning now so bring a light jacket

The section of the trail between the Cactus Forest Loop Drive is open to mountain biking. It is the only trail (other than the Loop Drive) that is open to biking. Since I have never done it, I gave it a shot this morning. Frankly, it's not worth biking. That section is only 2.5 miles long, and there is no challenge. Concentrating on the trail means you can't enjoy the scenery, and you will just be an annoyance to the hikers. Bikers, I would give this a pass. Hike it instead and enjoy the scenery.

Really fun trial with small tumbling hills. Be on the lookout for snakes. I saw a rattlesnake and a king snake. Be mindful of the trails that come off of Cactus Forest Trail. If you make any turns you are most likely on the wrong trail Cactus Forest Trail is all straight.

Cactus Forest is aptly named; you will be hiking through not just saguarro but every kind of cactus and succulent imaginable. Easy walk on the desert floor with very little elevation change. Bring your camera!

Nice, easy trail with beautiful views and an interesting variety of desert plants. We walked it the day after a snowfall in bright sun with snow surrounding us on every hillside. Greeted by a jackrabbit at the start and a coyote at the finish.

There are trailheads at the north and south of the loop drive and also intersects the web of trails inside the loop. Easy walk through sandy area. Lots of older Saguaros. Nice break from the more mountainous areas if you're tired, but sort of boring.
