Beautiful trail of vistas and vegetation! Incline is some work and big steps! But will do this again next year but counter-clockwise as the incline is shorter. I used my hiking poles for ease in coming down from the summit but my hubs did not. We are 65 years old and happy we can see these incredible places!

highly recommend following the directions of the app, which is the opposite direction that the sign tells you. if we go the direction the sign tells you there's a steep loose climb. beautiful views, highly recommend this trail

Well marked trail that you can take as a loop or out and back. If at the Y you go left you are walking on a relatively flat trail through multi variations of cacti. A steep but short switch backs joins you with the trail if you'd gone right at the Y. That portion climbs moderately steep with great views. The entire loop is well marked and easy to follow. Four of us in our 70s went up to the right and down through the valley. The last part, beyond the meeting point, is quite steep but doable and results in a great view at Bull Pasture.

Great hike, awesome for the season, January. Warm sun in some spots, cool shade in others. Lots of awesome cacti views, and a few caves to see too.

Great hike. January temperatures ideal. Not crowded and scenic despite the drought.

Great trail in Organ Pipe. Fairly average for a summit hike. Summit would be a great place for lunch or a snack. We went clockwise and were glad we did. We liked the scenery on the return portion more than the first half. Huge bonus is taking the scenic road to get to the trail head (graded dirt road is fine for a sedan).

HikingGreat!

Great trail. Original plan was the Arch trail, but this trail was recommended by the ranger for views at elevation and Cactus. We took the trail clockwise. The trail did not disappoint with sweeping views of the valley and Organ Pipe Cactus as well as Saguaros and Cholla. We hiked the trail in January and passed several hikers, so I imagine it gets quite busy during peak season. Temperatures ranged from 64 to 75 during our hike, and due to the location of the sun in the sky we had shade.

The scenery was less striking than Victoria Mine or the scenic drive to the trailhead, and the view from the top was a bit of a letdown. A big positive though was the coolness at a higher elevation and the canyon shade in the afternoon after baking in the desert sun in the other trails in the morning. Watch out for cholla near the end of the trail -- it grows right on the edge of the path and will attach to your skin and pants with the slightest contact.

Gorgeous hike to a 360-degree view of the valley - we finished in a bit less than an hour and it was not as strenuous as we thought. Recommend!

A long drive thru flat sun baked land to a long dirt road that winds up to the trailhead. The parks splendid doesn’t even really hit until you hit the trail and then it explodes. Red rock, saguaro fields, organ pipe cactus, ocotillo, stunning views, twisting dirt paths with canyon views. Stunning.

Completed on 03/01/2020: Beautiful trail with an abundance of wildflowers lining the trail. The trail has a steady grade which is easy to manage and follow. It becomes more rocky once you split to Bull Pasture. Beautiful views throughout and not too populated. Saw less than a dozen people on this trail. The trailhead is easy to find and starts right from the picnic area parking lot. The road to get to the trailhead is rocky and unpaved, however pretty flat and easy to manage. We have AWD but we saw many people there in sedans make it with no problem.

One of my favorite hikes in the desert. Great views when you get to the Bull Pasture sign. In the canyon was just as good but in a different way. Lots of plant life in the canyon to see and appreciate.

HikingMuddyRocky

Hiked this trail just after a rain, it was beautiful. Some places of the trail are bare rock so it was a little slippery when wet. Definitely a rugged trail. The trail at Bull Pasture peters out sooner than mapped here. Would definitely recommend doing this trail as part of your drive around the Ajo Mountain loop!
