Although open for hiking, users have reported this area may be private property. This unnamed hill is often confused for Spook Hill, but Spook Hill is actually a mile northwest of this location. There used to be a microwave tower at the top of this hill, but it has since been removed. You may still find the concrete base of it.

Visiting AZ, this was on my way home to Texas and thought thats steep from the road. However, it was actually quite pleasant for the altitude change and being disabled. The views were pretty cool. Stay to the right as previously mentioned. The only thing negative were the AZ people; they don’t return your salutations and don’t yield to the person coming up hill. Other that that it was quick and a cool view.

Explored the Butte and it has several flat spots, at least 6, possibly originally designed as home sites but later abandoned and now overgrown.

Great weather. Decent foot traffic but good flow. Middle of trail is pretty crumbly. Stick to the right for faster movement.

Cool little trail. Fortunately we just made it to the top, when a police officer came running after us saying the trail was closed as it turned out a bunch of people left around 30 big boxes of commercial fireworks on the top. LOL

The beginning of this trail has been washed out so it’s a bit of a scramble to get up. Once you get to the first landing it’s gorgeous views. This time we didn’t go up to the top because it was super busy, but we will definitely do this one again.

When I’m ever here visiting my Mom in Mesa I do this little hike a few times. Enough random parking. Starts steep hike up around washed out grooves that eventually arrives you around the first two corners to the amazing top. 360 view of Phoenix Apache Junction Valley. Make sure to bring some water and sweat towel. Sunsets are different every night - great hike for all - maybe challenging for older or small kids. Take your time it’s worth it for the

Easy, but steep! Brought some snacks and our dog to watch the sunset. Great view of the sunset, but it does get pretty busy and is pretty loose gravel coming down so wear proper shoes!
