Really nice trail if you have a dog at the North Rim. Yes, as the others said, you do not get canyon views, but it is really nice nature and pretty simple hike that starts and ends at the visitor center / lodge parking lot. Technically, the first 5+ miles of the Kaibab trail you do not see "the Grand Canyon" (you see another canyon) so enjoy the dogs in the park!

The first part is great right on the rim with wonderful views then it ducks into the woods until the campground. But it is the only trail you. Can take the dogs on here, so it does the job. Also lots of nice shade from the trees a respite from the desert below.

Just a walk in the woods. Love the eco system compared to the south rim.

This is the only trail where you're allowed to have your dog (on a leash). It doesn't follow the rim, so there are few spots where you can actually see the Grand Canyon from the trail. Weather was beautiful, though, and my elderly golden retriever really enjoyed the trip.

This is the only trail you can ride it is short with no viewing point. Disappointed with the NP system not allowing riding.
