Although hikers and mountain bikers can use this off-roading route, it is mostly used by off-road drivers. Open all year except a few weeks a year when military training exercises are in progress. Dates of closure are posted at the main entrance at Cottonwood Canyon Road and Mineral Mountain Road. The area is closed if red flags are flying. We found the Staging Depot pretty easily, stub led across an old mine, an old rusted out civic about 200-300 yards up. Over great day, beautiful views.

Really great trip especially on an ATV. Try doing the 37 mile loop through Box Canyon. It is worth it!!!!
