Good off roading all in a wash lots of soft sand. Some rocky areas this area is used frequently as there are many tracks in the sand.

We went out with two 250 dirt bikes and it wasn’t too bad til we got a little bit down the trail and the water was too deep for us to cross. If you were in a Jeep or a side by side you’d be fine. A lot of sand, so a good way to control your bike but all around a lot of fun. Definitely will be going back in a couple weeks.

I took my 2020 Can-Am maverick four seater the entire trail ran through some fairly deep water along the river and saw well over 100 hawks and couple of deer!

Great little trek, especially when you get to the water section. Strange how it pops up out of the ground and then disappears back into the sand about a mile later. We’ve been there several times and have always had a great time. Some of the sand is pretty loose and thick in certain areas.

Perfect. I go on a evoque on most off road trail. This was perfect. Not too short, not too long either. Went in the summer to avoid flooding areas but also get fun crossing the water and rivers. Very very small suvs should be okay during non rainy days.

5/12/19 Great ride, but kinda short. we went through canyon then tried to make our way to Stanton (Ghost town), but couldn't find trail. Rode 36.9 miles on quads. Box Canyon is beautiful. had water flowing through and very sandy. kinda hard on quads with that deep of sand, but was a good ride. Ended ride by taking Hassayampa to downtown Wickenburg and had lunch. can exit Hassayampa by McDonald's and cross bridge. excellent

Did this trail with a group consisting of 2 jeeps a rzr and a can am. Real nice ride especially in the little bit of water that was there. We got super dirty and rode hard in some areas. The trail was nice and clean and easy to follow. It was our first time trying this one out and we would def recommend others to try it out. Super fun!

Great run. Too the trail all the way into Yarnell. Make sure you check the river level. It was very borderline for me. Two weeks earlier people were flooding out their 4x4's in the river. Did this in a stock jeep JK.

Trail and markers are unclear; you have to rely on GPS and pay premium to download the map (unless you know the area). Went during mid Feb and we were the only souls in sight. Overall fun experience but if you're looking for a scenic route during this time of year just drive South Mountain Preserve in Phoenix. There will be more traffic but it offers a longer ride up the terrain, multiple forks in the road for exploring, and clear trail heads with a gorgeous view at the top.

Always a fun one to do! Not a very long ride through the riverbed, but well worth the time. The sand is very deep at the beginning and 4-wheel drive is probably a must! Once we got to the water, great times.

I don’t know how to get here?

The loop on the map is not passable with a deep washout by the old house.

did not due entire loop, but made it up the river bed. did run into some water, but with bypasses was able to get a stock Isuzu hombre 2.2l with good tires to the end of the of the water. really enjoyed it.

There is no parking, no signs, no bathrooms, and it’s very easy to get lost even with a GPS. It was not a good hike. In addition we never saw Box Canyon. We had to turn around about 2 miles before we got to the other side of the loop because the trail ended. Nowhere on the trail is any signage. I would not recommend to hike there. Off-roading would be okay , but not hiking.

Interesting hike where the river winds through a box canyon with water running despite hot and dry temps. Changes around every corner. Easy walking.

We came to see the Box Canyon. Don’t take the loop on the map!! Continue up the riverbed into a beautiful canyon with lots of shallow water crossings. Be sure to park and check out the little side canyon on the left. Next time I will record the route and go farther up. If expecting rain don’t go. 4x4 advised.
