NOTE: It has been reported this trail has temporary closures due to COVID-19. Please see the park's website for up to date information. Absolutely amazing views, all different strata in the rocks and seasonal wildflowers. Park across the street at the marina and cross to the south side for the trailhead. No tonto passes available at the site. The rockier parts of the trail can be difficult to run on.

This is a very nice work out to the top. The parking lot is closed because of then virus, but people are parking on the side of the road, making it limited parking. I got there at 6 am and was the only one there. By the time I came back down, it was crazy there. A lot of cars parked everywhere. So get there early if you don't want to have a good walk to the trail. it was a Saturday by the way. Also, I saw kids as young as 6 hiking that trail.

Many recreation sites/parking areas closed due to COVID-19, and parking along roadside is limited, so that made for less hikers on the trail. Well worth the parking hassle as the views are amazing and fewer hikers made for a pleasant morning.

We actually went down the the river, which is why the recording shows a longer distance. so many beautiful views up here! I like how you got the incline out of the way, and then it was pretty much smooth sailing afterwards. going down to the river was amazing, except for the part when we had to climb back up lol. get here early to avoid the crowds!

Beautiful drive to trailhead. Park in marina area along the fence which is labeled trail parking. Across the street is the trailhead. Up hill climbing on rocky terrain for the first mile plus then levels off a bit. Didn’t hike the entire look but went to a couple of overlooks which were gorgeous! Busy weekend so trail had lots of people but didn’t feel too crowded.

Great scenic views. Less traveled past a couple miles in. When we’ve had rain, there will be multiple water crossings possibly causing you to get wet or remove shoes and socks.

Gorgeous views and saw two smaller waterfalls running, thanks to all the recent rain. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful hike, the trail is well maintained and easy to follow. for most of the hike you can still see the lake and the view just keeps getting better the farther you go. The Viewpoint is well worth it with great views of the mountains.

Did this review yesterday with my 63 year old dad. We had a blast. Some steep inclines had us huffing and puffing. Amazing view at end. This is a very enjoyable hike with constant stunning views.

6 out if 5 stars! Epic area, knock your socks off views. And now spring is sprung and the trail has plenty of flowers already blooming in early March. This trail is NOT currently closed. Part of the road that leads you here, AZ 88, is closed. But it is only the part between Tortilla Flat and Roosevelt Dam. Not the part that takes you to Canyon Lake Marina (th area) from Idaho Rd off US 60. It's a tough but worth it trail. I'm pretty out of shape and I fared well. Most people stop at a viewpoint that is only about 1.3 mi in one way then turn around. But continue for this whole recorded trail to get a closer look at Weaver's Needle. Very worth adding a bit more. After that first official viewpoint, you're at the highest point on the trail so the worst and long incline is over. The total 2.5 mi one way was a butt kicker but JUST enough that I didn't feel I overdid it much. Loved this! My favorite trail so far this year in the PHX area since hiking regularly starting last year.

Beautiful hike with lots of pretty wildflowers and cactus varieties. You can continue on if you’d like but this is a solid day hike. It took us about 2.5 hours. Moderate hike with some ups and downs.

This was a moderate hike with a few steep climbs. Beautiful, green, 360 views pretty much the whole way. We even got treated to a few waterfalls and streams due to the rains yesterday. Get there by 9:30 for trail parking and wear study hiking boots with ankle support. Lots of gravel and loose rock. Enjoy!
