Nice easy trail. Nice for birdwatchers down by the creek. Try to avoid a hot day.
we did it was a very beautiful hike. It rained recently and the water was running a little bit. We hiked through the river bed to the waterfall then up. Due to time, we made it an in & out.
Cool trail for hiking with puppy. Beware lots of cow pies, most of the cows were down by the water.
Really great hike that shows off some of the best of the southern AZ terrain. The back half of the hike takes you along the Sonoita Creek, with plenty of shade in the ravine. Views at higher elevations are really beautiful. Cattle do roam about and we came across a few bulls on the trail that necessitated a quick detour around them. The trail path is generally clear, and only a couple instances of semi-loose terrain on your first descent. Be sure to bring an AZ state park pass or pay at the lake’s main gate.
The trail has many spots of tall and overgrown weeds covering the trails. Beginning portion of the trail was confusing as you can see on my recording. Make sure to cross the cement trail to cross the other side. There is a $15 fee. Pay that at the gate. The trail overall had neat views, but probably won’t do it again.
Bring bug spray, fee needs to be pay at Patagonia lake. pretty views of the lake from top. Watch out for cows and turkeys. Over grown trail in some areas. Trail has some scenic views with bench to sit and have a good snack.had a good time. hiked up to coal mine trail pretty good exercise. Passed the small creek will recommended hiking waterproof shoes .
