A great hike to do before or after work. It is short but a really good workout. Similar to other local hikes Piestewa or Dixie Peak. Great incline.

The trail was so nice going up. A bit cloudy at times and trail was well marked. However, flying ants greeted you at the very top covering the flag. Must have been the rain. I would do this trail again.

Watch for a lot of bugs at the very top. It had recently rained, so that could have been the reason for the swarm of bugs.

Hike is comparable to Camelback Mtn’s Echo Canyon trail. Definitely a workout! There’s a few well marked routes to take to the summit so you can mix it up each time.

I started the hike at 3:30am. I had about 30 minutes at the top to watch the bats fly around and watch the sun rise. Beautiful.

Was a little difficult finding the trail head. Bring water most if not all the trail is steep.

Great short hike with lots of vert. If you want a solid workout in a short time, this hike is a nice choice. The terrain is rocky and sharp in places, so we wouldn’t bring a dog. We started early, right before sunrise, to avoid the heat and the gnats, which were a little annoying toward the bottom on the way down. Afterwards, we went for breakfast in Cave Creek at Flapjacks. Loved the King Kong omelette!

This hike is more like rock climbing with all the boulders and large rocks you have to maneuver to get up along with a steep incline. Going down is easy but tough on the knees and ankles with all the sharp rocks and boulders
