WOW! It was a difficult climb and coming down not much easier. But the payoff was great at the top. Met a few locals who come here 5-6 times a week, very helpful in their directions to follow the white dots on the trail. Will come and do it again for sure.

This trail was both challenging and amazing at the same time. There IS a parking lot designated for hikers going up the mountain trail. Once your turn off Cave Creek Road, the parking lot will be ~100 yards down the street on the West side. You then have to walk a short ways up the street toward the mountain under to come to the “Begin” sign of the trail. The trail was pretty clearly laid out although there were a few areas that were a bit confusing (we figured out which way to go fairly quick). The views from the top were amazing, worth every step!

Short but sweet. Good workout on the way up. The American flag at the top was a great touch! Amazing 360 views of Scottsdale.

I had hiked this twice, and it threw no less a challenge both the times. This is one my favorite hiking spots in North Phoenix.

This hike is definitely a workout to get up. Cactus are close throughout the trail so be careful where you step. There were flys everywhere and the top had a hive of bees which made the viewing at the top brief. Not a bad hike overall.

Gorgeous black rocks! This is a slippery, rocky trail so wear good hiking boots.
