Hike roughly .7-.9 miles in, see the fence with barb wire and look to the left. There is some brush / logs blocking a trail and you take that about a half of a mile up to the cave. You’ll have another turn to the right- but it’s easy to find.

Make sure you read the description before setting out on this hike!!! It is very easy to miss the trail that goes to the cave as it is not marked. Make sure to keep an eye out for the pile of sticks and logs on the left/south side of the trail. After walking for 10 minutes or so on this trail, you will see an opportunity to head to the right going towards the canyon wall. This will take you to the birthing cave. You will not see as many people on this trail as some others in the area and the view from the cave is amazing!

It’s steep and rocky, but definitely worth it. We got lost trying to find the trail, but luckily ran into a local who pointed us in the right direction. There is no trail marker for this one. There was only a large tree stump and a path behind it. There are small cairns along the way though. Keep an eye out for the feral hogs. Once we reached the top, we could see several beneath the trees to the right of the trail. We didn’t want to take chances and decided to wait them out. Overall, it’s a very satisfying trail. Not many people know of it, nor can many find it..so more than likely, you’ll have it all to yourself!

Great trail! So peaceful once you get to the top. the cave is a great spot to eat a sandwich and soak in the views. Steep climb up to the cave with some cacti where I kept wanting rocks to hold on to, and once you get in there it is steep as well. Definitely want shoes with traction to feel secure.

Flat and easy trail to follow until you start ascending to the cave itself. Then be cautious of footing on the way up if you're wearing shoes with less traction as it's sandy and has some shifting rocks. Alltrails map is accurate but keep a close eye out for the fork off Long Canyon trail to the left since it's currently hidden by a downed tree. Gorgeous views and a nice shady break from the sun. Make sure to bring a very wide angle lens if you'd like to capture the entirety of the cave itself in one shot since it's very wide.

Out of this world. Do a little research regarding how to find it. One of the coolest things I’ve seen!

We just did the birthing cave hike. Google it before hand but basically you hike .7-.9 miles in, see the fence with barb wire and look to the left. There is some brush / logs blocking a trail and you take that about a half of a mile up to the cave. You’ll have another turn to the right but it’s easy to find.
