Bell Rock, Sedona We were THRILLED to get out on the road to Sedona on Saturday!! SO much that I forgot one of the most important items for a hike — my boots! After a road trip from Tempe to Sedona, what is a poor hiking girl to do?! Run into the first Famous Footwear Outlet that she sees for a fabulous clearance deal! Thank You Hubby for my new “Anniversary Boots!” We enjoyed our first visit exploring Bell Rock. It was our first hike with WALL-E, chasing bugs & lizards across the trail, too! We even caught a glimpse of a snake slithering back into a hole in the brush! The Scenic Trail was beautiful with the cacti in bloom and hardly a cloud in the sky! Trails are well marked and maintained. There is little to no shade and the trail is more populated, located in a top tourist destination.

With this trailhead just outside the village of Oak Creek it is very crowded and parking can be difficult. It is a easy walking trail with a lot of scenery of red rock formations. We did it in conjunction with the courthouse loop. It is all very beautiful.

Great trail. Hiked counter-clockwise on a warm sunny day, 64 degrees. The first part was very flat till we turned the corner around Courthouse Butte, then there was some moderate up and down till we reached the far side of Bell Rock, when it flattened out back to the trailhead. Trail is in good shape, and easy to follow. Our AllTrails app called it 4.3 miles with 407 feet elevation. Very crowded at the trailhead at 1:00pm, but we found a parking place, and there seemed to be a balanced flow of people leaving and arriving.

Definitely recommend parking in main lot of possible, especially if you're planning on attempting the summit. Summit and lower peaks are off trail. A good warm up though.

Only did half way from Little Horse parking lot toward Bell Rock. Then we had to turn back. Overall an easy trail. Some height on the path but manageable. Views were fantastic.

Some muddy spots from the rain. Get out for the full park loop and it gets nice and quiet out behind Courthouse Bluff.

Trail in good condition with some ruts. Easy to moderate hiking effort. Views of the rock formations were great and well worth the effort’
