gets you from point A to point B. cool with regards to views of the lakes and the canyons, but the road is too narrow at many places for the amount of traffic there is.

Used to take this road as an alternate route home a long time ago. It's definitely a scenic drive and worth doing. Haven't been for many years and it sounds like there have been many changes through the years. I'm sure the road itself is pretty much the same. The starting point on this review is kinda random. I would have thought Tortilla Flat would have been a more likely place to start or stop this. This is a desert drive, so there's not much in the way of shady spots. Great boating on all the lakes through here too.

Short cut from Apache junction to the dam. Great scenic drive. 4X4 not needed but it is a gravel road.

nice leisure drive, only real concern are people towing boats trying to get to apache lake...they seem to like to fly around corners in the middle of the road.

Beautiful drive. Doesn't require 4x4, but some clearance. Toyota 4Runner TRD Offroad.

Easy off-road drive, tons of scenery, lots of fun. Some bumps and washboarding, but nothing particularly precarious. Easy for trucks and bikes.
