River crossing is washed out. The signage points left along the west bank, so you still get to walk the path. The scouts we hiked with picked up two bags of garbage along the way. Easy, flat trail with plenty of shade. Yesterday's rain made parts very muddy. The mud is slippery, which can make things difficult for some folks.

Today we did the “Mission to Mission” (Presido in Tubac to Tumaccori Mission) & back. Even though the river crossing is washed out, you can still hike the entire trail. There are huge mud holes that you have to traverse around (by going through some brush. This is an excellent trail: no elevation gain, hard packed dirt & gravel and a lot of shade.

Very nice trail to do with the family. Had a great time. We earned our “hike for health pin”.

Nice and easy stroll with lots of birds to see. It’s a nice hike to do in the summer with the share from the trees and seems cooler being along the wash. Can be muddy and washed out if there is rain.

Anza Trail from Tumacacori National Historical Park to Tubac. Easy, flat, and lushly green at this time of year. We intended to end at the Tubac presidio but two rangers at Sabino Canyon had told us about the sensational food and wonderful ambience at Elvira’s Restaurant so we couldn’t resist. It made the trail ~two miles longer but it was worth it!

Trail crossing river is closed and washed out. Trash everywhere which is sad. Very flat and boring trail. The mission is kind of cool but that’s it.

We actually biked this out and back trail, which is great except for we ended up with flat tires because of all the thorns. It is very pretty and green, unlike other parts of this area. The sign did not say bikes are allowed, but we got the map from the chamber of commerce calling it a hiking/biking trail. We put stronger tubes on the bikes and plan on going back. The river is beautiful and there is an alternate route so you don’t have to cross the river (there are boards to cross, no problem) but there was water on that route-we turned around and did the river crossing route with better luck. There is more of the de Anza trail off Elephant Head rd, very nice path with not much cover, but pretty flat, except for a couple wash outs. This takes you into the backside of a neighborhood, go through the neighborhood exit onto Abrego. Great route, there is no mention of this part of the trail, and there is a great trail head at the start.

yogi's firt hike. Yogi is my rescue Doberman...he was really a good boy! I saw 2 deer but he missed them. Good thing he is 97lbs I top out at 108. I would have been in a world of hurt if gave chase, not so sure I wouldn't have been on my face adios!

Lots of shade in this riparian forest. Hiked from Tumacacori to Tubac. The trail has been rerouted recently due to flooding, so no river crossings are required.

Great trail with lots of shade and possibility to bring your dog. Pretty flat, along the river. Make it as long or as short as you wish and finish at one of the restaurants in Tubac

This trail is very flat and could do with more signage in some spots. We took a couple of wrong turns but were able to figure it out. We had our lunch near the river and enjoyed seeing the ducks. We also ran into three horseback riders along the way.

We took the trail south from the mission because of flooding toward Tubac. It was a flat trail through a riparian area along the Santa Cruz River. There were wild flowers and lots of birds (and birders). In spots the beauty was marred by som junk cars off to the side. Over all an enjoyable walk.

Beautiful trail. Bridge is out at the river and water hip high so you can’t cross unless you really want to get wet
