nice easy trail. my 5 yr old did it. beautiful scenery, lots of picture ops. ended at the creek bed
So beautiful in the fall! You do have to go off trail a bit to see the river, but it’s worth it, and the whole trail is gorgeous.
Fantastic hike for my two boys 11 and 4. We took a dip at the end of the trail, really beautiful!
Very nice easy hike in the shade with some interesting things to see along the way. Here is a short video i did of the hike; https://youtu.be/yZBMIq1fgS8
A low traffic trail w creek crossing and several steep spells. We parked at grasshopper point and used Allen’s Bend trail to meet up with this one. There are spots of shade throughout the trail.
Great for kids! Great little creek crossing and older “ruins” on the trail. Even some rock climbing bolts along the way and bouldering areas and chalk though I’ve never tried it. Swimming hole is nice but get there early. It’s the trail we first take our kids in to get them adjusted to hiking.
We meant to hike Casner Canyon Trail but could not find a crossing point on Oak Creek that would lead to that trail (the AllTrails indicated crossing is definitely not correct as there is no trail on the other side). So instead hiked Allens Bend, which is a pretty hike, but most special is the large swimming hole on the creek in the Grasshopper Point Day Use Area. Just a fabulous place to spend a hot summer day.
