I love it! Amazing view of Sedona. Easy stroll with a little bit of hike.

Came early to see the sunrise from the mini mesa which is to the left from little parking lot. Dress warmly. Then proceeded to do the loop. Beautiful on the east side but a little noisy on the west side once the town below started to wake up. Saw no one else on the trail which was nice. Perks of a Monday morning hike. Took 1.5 hrs to complete loop.

Great hike. Wear good shoes. Amazing views. Took us middle age folk about 3 hours including the scenic view hike down and back up to airport parking.

Awesome to see the airplane take off as you hike around the airport.

Got into Sedona late and jumped on trail from oak creek park before sundown. Well traveled by inexperienced tourist type hikers. Goes around crown of airport on top of a hill so planes and helicopters are taking off close by. Nice views by formal trailhead. Very crowded.

Parking: 14 spots at trail head. Bring your four leaf clover on the weekends. Alternatively you can park higher up at the airport lot for 3 bucks (although I’m not sure how to make on the trail.

Trail: Crowds at trail head usually are for the short summit trail. Crowds thin out on the loop. East side of loop offers great views of the courthouse and bell. Trail has some thin ledges with drop offs but nothing so technical the average hiker can’t handle. The west side is much flatter. Overall great views and a great classic Sedona hike!

Visited in December - lucked out and found a parking spot at the lower level, so I didn't have to pay $3 to park at the airport. AMAZING views of Sedona. Starting off, the trail has a few spots where you do have to cross a pretty flat rock with a sharp drop off - make sure you have shoes with decent traction. This was a fun hike, but longer than I expected. Leaving before noon, go counterclockwise and you get sunlight in all the right places on the mountains for amazing views. Lots of rocky sections. Plenty of places to stop for a break and just take in the scenery. Overall, this was a great, refreshing hike. Also, make sure to take summit trail - it's a short, steep walk up, but gives you a fantastic feeling and great photo ops.

nice hike around the airport. I would list it as moderate vs. easy due to some inclines, angled rocks to walk on and slippery area with loose rocks.

This is a cakewalk because it's pretty flat and only takes about 90 minutes to complete if you do not do the additional Tabletop Mesa extension hike. If you are not used to the altitude in Sedona, there is some elevation gain but nothing too crazy. Unfortunately this trail is no good for trail running because it is very rocky. There is one small 10-foot section where the path narrows close to the edge and you have to be careful, so this may not be a great hike for the vertigo-inclined. Go early and start traversing counterclockwise the west side of the airport first, because the helicopters start at 8 a.m. and the plane traffic is noisy. And if the wind is blowing the wrong way you will smell jet fuel for a good ten minutes. I usually start at the Sunset Drive trailhead where you can park nearby for free.

As a novice hiker I did find this a little nerve wrecking in a few places. Yes- the path is narrow. That was not of any issue unless you needed to let people pass. However, I think the part that worries me the most were the parts of the path that were not flat and had a sharp drop off on the other side. These parts were few, but gave me pause in crossing them.

The view is always beautiful! The trail is not crowded at all and not very steep.

Amazing views from every place on the trail. Took the whole family (hubby and two sons - ages 6 & 8). I would categorize it moderate as it is very rocky at points and you need to watch your footing. Mountain bikers also use this path, so it can be difficult to pass when on a narrow path next to cacti. But overall great hike!

This was beautiful hike. I recommend climbing to the top of the nearby airport Mesa for a vortex and view of Sedona that is breathtaking. More moderate then easy.

It is NOT an easy trail! It has places that are hard to pass because there are ledges that you are walking on large rocks with loss sand and small rocks. So, it’s easy to slip and fall. On a large area of the hike the path is difficult because you are hiking on a path that is nothing but rugged rocks. There are many steep places. But, the view is amazing! But it is a difficult hike!

Great views.

I agree with some of the other posts- I would rate this as a “moderate” trail due to the changing elevation, rocks on the trail requiring focus on your footing and some narrow paths. this was a great hike and challenging for someone like me who’s in fair shape however a hiking novice.
