304-1A is one of my favorites. 304 connects to 1A, extending that easy trail potentially by miles. 1A is a loop, running through the park both on the south side of the mountain, and on the north side. It tricked me one time, and I went all the way to end of trail, 7+ miles through the trails, and then a couple miles back to parking! Generally, it;provides a cushy trail behind and back over the mountain. 1A also leads to the VOAZ and the Irregular Link trails, which are interesting connectors. Continuing on 1A by a couple miles past the early turn-off, one finds the Summit trail, and can climb up to about half way to the top. Who in the heck is Perl Charles, anyway? Or is it Charles Perl?
