Whitman Trail is a 2.5 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Ketchikan, Alaska that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options. Dogs are also able to use this trail.

Wide gravel road maintained by KPU. Goes to Achilles Creek diversion, as well as Whitman Lake dam. There are a couple of steep hills. Views of Deer Mtn ridge and across George Inlet. Also includes a couple of picnic spots, with tables and bear-proof garbage bins.

Nice easy wide road to walk on. Took me about an hour total. Would be a neat spot to picnic! You can't see much of Whitman Lake because of the dam, but you can see part of Deer Mtn ridge above the lake. Might be a good trail for a quick bike ride (if you want to push your bike up the steep hills.)
