Beautiful hike. If you’re a beginner consider warming up for this hike with maybe one or two before. A steady incline with a few flat areas throughout. But mostly you’re trekking up. Beautiful views this time of year.

Apparently there was a bold black bear sighting on July 24th, so for protection I took a wet stick, a pocket knife, and some headphones. Luckily there was no bear sighting today, but there was a pretty aggressive ground squirrel that gave me a look at the top of the tree line, so look out for that guy!
The hike was amazing, but the best part was continuing past The Dome, along the ridge line all the way to Knoya Peak. This adds about 3 miles to the whole hike and the top of the ridge is some rocky terrain with some climbing required, but well worth it. The top of the peak had a nice little grass patch to sit and enjoy the views. Would hike again!!

Very nice trail. Had a bit of trouble finding the trail. Some private property and Military signs confused a bit. Ounce you are past that what a treat. Nice views all the way up. On top good view of city. Enjoyed the hike.

Steep. Not easy

hiking
Sunday, June 19, 2016

I would not consider this an easy hike. When I think of easy, I think about taking kids less than 10 with me and having them be able to do the whole trail. I'm not sure this would be an easy hike for a younger child. This gets quite steep and gravely at the very top. It's also on MILITARY LAND and you have to have a pass to get up here. Additionally, this trail is highly used by bears and bicyclists - so be aware of both.
