Spencer's Loop Trail is a 5.5 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Basher, Alaska that offers scenic views and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from April until September. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

This is a good hike to do with a buddy if you’re looking for something pleasant & woodsy, with a few not-too-long inclines, so you can keep the conversation going the whole hike. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for really fantastic views...there are a few spots where you can see the city, but they aren’t spectacular.

It was a nice enough hike. The trail is super easy and popular with cyclists. Not much wildlife due to the popularity of the trail. Be prepared to deal with some mosquitos.

Saw a moose cow and some pretty male spruce grouse.

Easy hike. Experienced rain, hail and snow in a matter of minutes while hiking. It was a breeze for a 4 year old. The river is beautiful frozen.
