Beautiful! Crunchy snow towards top and icy mud at the bottom. Yak Tracks would have helped in certain sections.

Beautiful trail with amazing views at the top! Saw a lot of bear and moose prints in late September but did not see any bears. Lots of nice places to enjoy the view.

A very beautiful trail with cool lookout at top! The bugs get pretty bad about 3/4 of the way to the top. Spotted multiple bear prints in the mud but did not see any bears. A bit muddy at spots so would recommend boots or shoes you don’t mind getting dirty.

Absolutely stunning view at the top. The entire hike to the trail is very boring and very easy. The end is a little bit steeper. We didn't stop at all on the way up. A lot of bugs and very muddy conditions. It was drizzling on the way up.

The view was amazing at the top, bugs weren't bad, muddy in some spots, and trail has a lot of overgrown plants. It didn't help that there was a bear siting a couple of weeks ago and with the plants being so overgrown, I was just waiting for a bear to greet us along the way. Thankfully that did not happen. Also no one mentions that the last 30 minutes or so of the trail is steep.

HikingGreat!

So beautiful. The trail was nice and not too muddy, and the bugs weren’t bad at all. The view at the top was much better than I expected for how easy the hike was. Highly recommend it.

Amazing views, the lake is beautiful. The trail can get narrow and over grown in some places, also a little muddy, but you're on a hike what do you expect! Saw some bear scat but other then that very quiet hike.

Muddy near the top. Views were fantastic. Saw moose tracks. There was a notice that a bear bluff charged a hiker 7/26/20.

Worth the hike! Everyone I’ve brought said the view is unreal and looks like a desktop background. We did have some mosquitoes, so just bring some spray. Also muddy parts after wet days too.

Hiked 7/19. Beautiful views! Worth the climb. Not too difficult at all. Very few people. Lots of mud & bugs. Wear waterproof shoes and bug spray & you should be fine.

80 degrees, but nice breezes and lots of shade along the way. Bugs, but repellent made peace. Old bear scat. Spruce grouse family. Lupines, bluebells, putchkies; hundreds of fireweed blossoms a few weeks out. The angle of the afternoon sun brought out that amazing color of vibrant rock flour in the lake. iPhone recorded 5 miles and 48 floors.

Very little mud and definitely bring bug spray. Plenty of game trails crossing the path and signs of bear activity. Easy trail with a great view

Beautiful view. First mile was very muddy. Second mile was dry and over grown, lots of mosquitos! Bug spray and xtratuffs are definitely a necessity.

Beautiful hike! The road from the east end wasn’t bad AT ALL The trail was kind of muddy the first quarter of a mile at the beginning of the hike but we were able to sneak around most of it. The view was breathtaking. We did see a momma black bear and 3 cubs a few miles down the road past the trailhead (we went to the lookout spot for pics) We were armed and had a few cans of bear spray but had no encounters on the trail. I will definitely be doing this hike again!
