Bit of a scramble at the end. It seems like it would be easier to return the way you came instead of following the loop on AllTrails. Getting to the easier scree slopes was pretty dicey.
Great conditions today. Getting to the screen slope on the way down is pretty dicey. I think I would have been better off going back the way I came.
wind to strong today but a very maintained trail and easy access will try again in a few days if the wind dies down! Update: Made it to the top 9-1-2020 . I left a notebook tucked in the tallest point of the peak feel free to write what you like inside.
Im not sure this is the best route. There is a worn trail on the south side of the west ridge that seems to be less dangerous as you would not be climbing through loose scree. I turned around due to weather, probably about 30mph winds nearing the top. Make sure to be prepared for this scramble.
I do not think I was at the hiking level to be doing this. I was scared because it was extremely steep and one wrong step could have sent me off a cliff.
The rabbit lake side is a bit overgrown. There’s a bit of a snow chute from the saddle that makes for a quick descent. Was hard to find the trail, especially on the way up. Requires some rock climbing on the way up, several rock slides to walk across - be cautious.
Ascended via Rabbit Creek, quite steep and trail on upper peak is virtually nonexistent. Descended the South face, which required significant route finding and bouldering down through/across several rock fields. Recommend this peak only for experienced folks as it’s significantly steep and there’s quite a bit of rock climbing up top. Views were the BEST I’ve EVER seen. 11/10!
