The power-line pass is an easy trail. But the 2 miles to hidden lake are more difficult. It's worth every step and plenty of areas to rest with great scenery.

Sunny beautiful day!! Nobody up at the lake and went down the side of the mountain to the valley on the way back. Love this trail

Power line trail is pretty easy however the hike to the hidden lake is more difficult. Semi-steel incline up on some rocks but pretty views! My dog was with me and he did great

Great hike but beware of the "loop" description. There is no trail from lower lake to O'Malley peak and the trail back. Route is a super steep Rocky slope. Better to go over ridge to right as facing the lake and explore a magnificent cirque.

We did this hike on 4/15 and we got stuck in snow that gave in under us, which wasn’t so fun. It was harder than we expected due to us breaking in snow to our hips and getting out of it, I’m an experienced hiker from Washington State and my friend’s from Chicago. I would do this hike again but prepare better for snow or come back in the summer.
Overall it’s a great hike with amazing views and I’d recommend it.

Hiked 1/21. Lots of snow, trail splits off at one point where you follow the main trail or just a track of footsteps, but both will get you there. A lot of post holing. Easier if you’ve been to the lakes and know where they are.

Amazing fall colors. Great hike. Lots of blueberries!!

My wife and I hiked this trail on Sept. 8. First time for us. We found the scenery just absolutely beautiful in the fall colors. The lake itself was quite a reward in itself. Over all the hike was easy early on and moderate at the end with increased grades with the trails having more rocks. We did see 15 Dall Sheep.

Easy to moderate difficulty due to distance. The hike took about 3.5 to four hours. Beautiful views of the Anchorage bowl and Chugach Mountains. All ages and abilities can participate. You can bike along the power line trail and lock your bike to a bike rack right before the bridge where the Hidden lake trail splits from the power line trail. We saw several moose along the way which like to graze along either side of the power line trail.

WARNING. The steep part around mile 5.7-6.2, O'Malley Peak is not "Moderate". There is no trail, lots of loose rock and potential for injury. The views are worth it, just be careful; fore warned is four armed :)
Ca$h me owsi, how bow dat? (Glad you like the review Annie&Pat)

This trail is moderate. The payout at the end is spectacular while the power line pass portion is just a means to get you to the hidden lakes trailhead. Muddy in a lot of spots today and a lot of snow still on the ground further back on the trail. Some spots of snow were knee deep if falling through. The lake is still almost completely frozen. Saw mountain goats and arctic ground squirrels and the views were amazing!

This hike was amazing very beautiful and a great workout!! It wasn't at all hard and I'm not in good shape either, it was doable. I loved it .

went today for my first winter hiking trek and this hike did not disappoint! there was some deep snow in parts and it was pretty steep near the top but totally worth it. you can't beat clear blue skies and snowy mountain views.

The power-line pass is an easy trail. But the 2 miles to hidden lake are not easy at all if you are out of shape. Took me 3.5 hours to make it to the lake. It's worth every step and plenty of areas to rest with great scenery.

It's a fun hike. Powerline pass always has gorgeous scenery. The hike is pretty easy, mostly level until the very end. Not one of my favorites in the Anchorage bowl, but it's a good short hike. Usually takes me about 3 hours to complete the whole thing from the parking lot to the lake and back. The terrain is just a rocky/dirt path, fairly easy to navigate.

Easy ride on a well maintained trail. No real gut busters. Scenery is great with plenty of wildlife near the lake.

Great trail to run or hike! Refreshing reward at the lake... if you can stand the cold water
